Star in the STY: Mike Rigby

At PiGs, it’s all about the people. Our Star in the STY is our way of saying a big thank you to the incredible individuals in the glazing sector who consistently support our networking events. This shout-out is just a small token of appreciation for the big part they play in the PiGs community. Our latest Star in the STY is a huge supporter of PiGs, it’s Mike Rigby!
Name: Mike Rigby
Company: MRA Research & MRA Data (WindowBASE)
Been going to PiGs since: I think I went to the very first one, many years ago.
Favourite PiGs location: Bristol! It’s the closest and it was very buzzy and it was great meeting so many people I knew.
Tipple of choice: Strega, a fierce Italian liqueur. I was introduced to it years ago instead of breakfast by the skipper as we sailed from Sardinia at 7am. It certainly woke us up!
What’s the best thing about PiGs? The people. It’s a great industry and meeting people without their products is just a great experience. Everyone is on the same level, whatever the size and type of business.
What makes PiGs different from other industry events? The atmosphere. It’s brilliant!
Who’s someone you love catching up with at a PiGs event? Crikey what an impossible question! There’s so many, but Sarah and Andy edge it I guess. We go way back and there’s always so much to say.
Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)? Hmmm, that’s a hard one. A couple of the very early ones were a bit sparse, so they stood out for the wrong reasons. But the rest are a blur of great meet ups.
Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could? Dublin. I spent eight years there in my twenties, and it’s such a lively capital city. Whenever you go it more than lives up to its reputation!
