Lee Marriott lends his artistic talent during Remembrance Sunday

Lee Marriott, Northern Sales Manager at Emplas, was volunteered without hesitation by his wife Jenny after she saw a plea for artistic help on the Armitage with Handsacre village chat to support the Remembrance Sunday service and parade.
The results were impressive. Lee’s handiwork created an archway to the entrance of the church with the start and end dates of both WWI and WWII with a hand-painted representation of the official badge of the British Armed Forces, as well as a 6-foot-high horse from plywood.
Lee said: “I was put forward by my better half! It’s been a few years since I picked up a paintbrush, but it all came back once I got started.”
Lee’s artwork helped bring the church’s Remembrance Sunday display to life, adding a personal touch to the community’s tribute to those who served.
“It turned out better than I expected,” added Lee. “But the best part was seeing my youngest so proud. She was telling everyone, ‘My Daddy did that!’ while taking part in the parade with the Brownies. That moment meant everything.”
