Getting to know: Kelly’s Heroes Climb Kilimanjaro – Dan Mason

As part of the Kelly’s Heroes Climb Kilimanjaro charity fundraiser, we are getting to know the team taking on the incredible challenge between 12-21 September 2024.
Next up we have Dan Mason of Safeguard Glazing Supplies
Name: Daniel Mason
Job title: Installations Manager
Company: Safeguard Glazing Supplies Ltd
How long you’ve been there? 10 years
How long have you been in the glazing industry in total? 10 Years
How are you preparing? Living in South Lincolnshire, we are not blessed with having lots of hills or inclines to walk, so I have been doing a lot of training runs. I am generally quite active with my running, and I play football, so I like to think I have a good all-round fitness level, although Kilimanjaro may prove me wrong!!! I have spent some time in the lake district doing some walks with friends and family also.
What are you least looking forward to? Not being able to have a hot shower ☹
What are you most looking forward to? Reaching the summit! No, I am just looking forward to the whole challenge to be honest. I think it’s a wonderful opportunity for myself and the rest of the team, lets face it, these sorts of opportunities do not come up to often, so I am absolutely buzzing to get the chance.
What does Kelly’s Heroes mean to you? Kellys Heros is an amazing charity that does some incredible work for people that struggle with mental health. The charity means a hell of a lot to not only me but the wider communities. It provides vital support and resources for individuals who struggle with there mental health. It offers a safe space for people to seek help, reduces the stigma surrounding mental health and promotes education and awareness. They provide a “Listening Ear” 7 days a week on there website for people that are struggling and seeking help.
The charity’s work plays a crucial role in improving the lives of so many people and its an invaluable resource for people and their communities.
