CAB celebrates 30-year members

CAB celebrated 30-year members at its 31st AGM

The Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) celebrated long-standing member contributions and a year of renewed growth at its 31st Annual General Meeting.

The event brought together companies from across the aluminium supply chain for an evening of industry insight, recognition and networking.

As part of the proceedings, CAB presented awards to organisations marking 30 years of continuous membership, acknowledging the expertise, consistency and support these companies have reportedly shown since the association was founded in 1994.

CAB Chief Executive, Nigel Headford, thanked the members receiving recognition and highlighted the value of their contribution.

He said: “These businesses have helped shape CAB’s technical work, sustainability initiatives and collaborative culture for three decades.

“Their commitment has played an important role in strengthening aluminium’s position across UK construction.”

Alongside the long-service awards, CAB also presented several team-selected acknowledgements to companies that have shown exceptional engagement throughout the year.

Nigel confirmed that membership continues to grow, with eleven new companies joining in 2025, including several fabricators returning to CAB.

He noted that member participation across CAB’s technical committees, working groups and events has risen sharply, reflecting a renewed appetite for collaboration as the industry adapts to the demands of the Building Safety Act, new competency expectations and increasing sustainability requirements.

“The level of involvement this year has been fantastic,” Nigel said. “Members are engaging earlier, asking more of us, and helping shape the direction of the association.”

CAB’s Closed Loop Recycling Scheme also continued to gain momentum, with more companies contributing aluminium scrap back into the UK recycling network.

Nigel reiterated that the scheme remains one of the simplest ways for members to demonstrate circularity and reduce environmental impact.

“CAB exists to support, inform and represent its members,” he concluded. “The progress made this year reinforces the strength of our community, and we look forward to building on that momentum together in 2026.”
