Building Our Skills and NOCN launch new industry qualifications

Building Our Skills has announced the launch of new Installation and Surveying Qualifications for the Fenestration, Glass and Glazing industry by NOCN Group.
The qualifications launched at the start of August were: NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Fenestration Installation, and NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Fenestration Surveying.
These are said to be the first in a whole suite of new qualifications stemming from the partnership between Building Our Skills and NOCN Group announced earlier this year.
Building Our Skills has championed the development of new qualifications for the industry following extensive consultation with and collaboration from leading players in the industry.
Speaking for Building Our Skills, Director Chris Globe said: “we were delighted to announce our partnership with NOCN earlier in the year, and are even more delighted now to formally launch the first phase of their new set of Qualifications for the industry.
“Adding to the work that Building Our Skills has been doing for many years now to attract new talent to the industry, these new qualifications will help us support knowledge and development even further, whilst also affording employees already engaged in the industry an opportunity to hone their skills.”
He added: “I also want to take this moment to pay tribute to the major players in the industry who have worked so collaboratively alongside ourselves and NOCN Group to develop these brand new qualifications.
“They have also committed to working with us on an ongoing programme of product development to ensure that not only does the industry have the qualifications it needs to meet its needs right now, but also to ensure that there will always be new products in the pipeline designed to meet its future needs”.
Speaking for NOCN Group, Laura Randall, Head of Business Development said: “as one of the biggest construction Awarding Organisations in the UK with over 500 construction qualifications, it makes complete sense for us to also offer the fullest range of qualifications for the Fenestration, Glass and Glazing industry, a sector whose products are integral to all build projects.
“Our partnership with Building Our Skills provides the perfect platform for us to do this.
“Their connections in the industry and the support they have is really exciting for us to see, and we expect great things from the work we are doing together.”
Anyone interested in finding out more about these qualifications, or centres who might want to deliver them, should contact Building Our Skills in the first instance: www.buildingourskills.co.uk or email sayhello@buildingourskills.co.uk.
Within the partnership NOCN Group has full ownership, authorship and intellectual property rights across all products, materials, systems and associated documentation. It has full regulatory accountability for all matters.
