Rooflight Association at InstallerSHOW: Key Takeaways

Jon Shooter, Marketing Committee Chair for The Rooflight Association, discusses its appearance at the recent InstallerSHOW 2025.
This was The Rooflight Association’s InstallerSHOW debut. It was also the first time I had attended, and I was keen to get a feel for it and see who else was exhibiting and what was attracting attention.
The show itself was very professional, in terms of organisation and seminars, and it seemed to be very well attended.
The big industry brands had all come out and it was almost like pre-Covid in terms of money spent on some very impressive, high-quality stands. The aisles were very busy across all three days, and with a lot to take in, it would have been a full day out for a visiting installer.
Regarding relevance to the fenestration market, I’d say the jury is still out. Most enquiries were from jobbing builders or for one-off projects. We met very few window/door/rooflight installers, which I guess makes sense given how few exhibitors there were from this sector.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable show, but right now, I don’t believe it’s where we need to be. If I were a plumber, electrician or carpenter, then sure, the show was spot on.
But can and should it include fenestration? I guess that depends on whether they wish to actively compete with FIT Show, which for us, was far more positive.
