Strongdor supports local charity Unique Kidz and Co

Throughout February, steel door manufacturer Strongdor celebrated Random Acts of Kindness Day by supporting local charity, Unique Kidz and Co, through a special fundraising initiative and toy donation.
Strongdor donated specifically selected toys from the charities online wish list to benefit the children and young people who access the charity’s services. Members of the Strongdor team, accompanied by our mascot Theodor, also visited Unique Kidz and Co to personally deliver the toys.
The company said its contribution was aimed to enrich the play and social experiences of the children, ensuring the gifts would provide maximum benefit to those who need them most.
The team said it was a pleasure to meet some of the incredible children and young people who access the charity, and to take a tour of the Unique Kidz and Co building where all the amazing work takes place.
A local community passion
Strongdor, based in Lancashire, is passionate about supporting their local community with a dedicated charity team who have a goal to support four chosen charities this year.
The team are said to love a good challenge and raised over £2500 in just one of its events last year for St Johns Hospice.
Amy Burrow, Strongdor HR Director, commented: “Strongdor’s charities have been selected by the employee’s themselves this year and along with our voluntary charity team are passionate about identifying creative ways in which to help the selected charities. The generosity is absolutely outstanding, and I am humbled by the kindness that each and every employee offers.”
Who are Unique Kidz and Co
Founded in 2009 by two mums, Denise and Jane, Unique Kidz and Co was created out of a necessity to provide suitable childcare for their own disabled children.
They recognised the gap in services for children with additional needs, and their mission became to offer children and young people, including their siblings, the opportunity to socialise, play, and make lasting friendships.
This initiative also supports families by allowing parents to return to work, knowing their children are in a safe and nurturing environment.
