South Cleveland Heart Fund Pays Visit to MB DIY

MB DIY, the Middlesbrough-based home improvement specialist, has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting vital local healthcare by hosting a recent visit from South Cleveland Heart Fund to its offices.
The visit was a chance for the charity to personally thank the MB DIY team for their outstanding fundraising efforts in 2024, which saw employees complete a 13-mile sponsored walk across Cleveland’s four highest peaks, raising over £7,400 for lifesaving cardiac care.
“This cause is very close to our hearts,” said Andy Gray, Marketing Manager at MB DIY. “One of our directors received exceptional care from the team at James Cook University Hospital, which inspired us to give back in a meaningful way. Seeing how our donation directly funds critical equipment and supports pioneering heart treatment in Teesside is incredibly rewarding.”
During the visit, South Cleveland Heart Fund representatives delivered an eye-opening presentation on how donations are used. Every pound raised contributes to purchasing state-of-the-art medical equipment—including MRI and ECG scanners, life-saving defibrillators, advanced scan machines, and specialist thoracic tools—ensuring James Cook University Hospital remains one of the UK’s leading heart units.
The MB DIY team also learned more about the charity’s founder, Dr. Adrian Davies, whose groundbreaking work includes the development of the transradial angioplasty, a procedure now saving countless lives worldwide.
“We are immensely proud to support such a vital local charity,” added Andy. “The South Cleveland Heart Fund plays a critical role in ensuring that patients in our community receive world-class heart care.”
