PiGs becomes media partner to Team Seasoar

The People in Glazing Society aka PiGs has become a media partner to Team Seasoar, a team of rowers attempting to row the Atlantic Ocean in early December.
The team is made up of four individuals training hard, two of which are from the glazing sector in Sam Weber and Jason Wilder. The other two members of the team are Niall Brannigan and John Watling.
The row will start in San Sebastian in the Canary Islands and finishes at Antigua in the West Indies. The team will be rowing for two hours then sleeping for two hours constantly, 24 hours a day. On bad days, waves could measure up to 20ft high. According to their webpage, the team will on average lose 12kg each on the journey, burn 5000 calories each day and drink 10 litres of water.
Sam said: “For most people, the physical side to rowing the Atlantic captures their imagination, however the rowing campaign starts at least two years prior to the actual race!
“Deciding to row, making the commitment, building a team, setting individual & team objectives, sourcing and leaning about the never ending kit and equipment list, nutrition and hydration.
“We also have to prepare for the dangers, learn to row, be able to survive at sea, learn to navigate, learn first aid, team dynamics, the mission statement and of course, the spectre of fundraising.
“I have been a keen fundraiser for over eight years, raising over £250,000 for local and national charities.
“This has taken me to Africa and South America, climbing some of the highest mountains in the world to the Amazon Rainforest, taking part in a Jungle Survival Course.
“Rowing across the Atlantic Ocean was once the ultimate dream, but now is an awesome reality!”
