Meet the Machu PiGchu Team: Julie Holmes
PiGs’ Machu PiGchu challenge, supporting Harry’s Pals as Charity of the Year for both 2025 and 2026, now has eight team members ready to take on the Inca Trail in October 2026.
In a new series of articles, we get to know the team members taking on this incredible challenge. First up we have Mila Sales Director, Julie Holmes!

How long you’ve been there? 12 Years
How long have you been in the glazing industry in total? 18 years
Why did you want to be part of team Machu PiGchu and trek the Inca Trail? I wanted to be part of Team Machu PiGchu because it’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and a great way to push myself outside my comfort zone physically and mentally. Doing it with a group from the industry makes it even better – we’re all in it together for a brilliant cause. Supporting Harry’s Pals adds real meaning to the challenge, and I’m proud to be supporting such an important charity.
How are you preparing? I’ve been trying to get in as much walking as I can — especially uphill! I’m also working on my general fitness so I don’t completely regret my life choices halfway up the trail. Mostly it’s about getting my mindset ready for the challenge.
What are you least looking forward to? Definitely the mosquitos! I’m basically a walking buffet for them, so I’m fully expecting to get eaten alive. Insect repellent will be the first thing in the case!
What are you most looking forward to? The views, the people, and that incredible feeling of achievement when we reach Machu Picchu. Sharing the experience with a team that’s all in it for a great cause will make it truly unforgettable.
What does Harry’s Pals mean to you? What this charity does for families is incredibly touching and powerful, it steps in with real, meaningful help at a time when people need it most. Being able to help raise awareness and funds for them feels genuinely meaningful.
