The glazing sector is well-known for its charitable events, fundraisers and donations, and the last two weeks have been no different.

Many companies have recently held their MacMillan Coffee Morning’s, which aim to raise much-needed funds to support the three million people in the UK living with cancer.

Money was raised across the board, with companies such as PiGs sponsors RegaLead, SupaLite and UAP all taking part.

But it was Consort Windows who really raised the bar for its fundraising efforts, with employee Noah Holt shaving his head to help raise money for the charity. In total, the company raised over £700.

Another company, in Aluminium & Plastics Systems (APS), were also in the mood to raise lots of money, with employees raising £350, which was matched by APS to take their total to £700.

George Lewis, Editorial PiG at the People in Glazing Society (PiGs), was in awe of the amount of fundraising that took place.

He said: “With the amount of charitable work seen around the sector, it is no surprise that the MacMillan Coffee Morning was a huge success for many companies.

“To see so much money being raised is a testament to how generous this industry is, as we have seen ourselves at PiGs with our STY Master Sarah Ball recently helping to raise over £85,000 for our Charity of the Year, Kelly’s Heroes.

“I can’t wait to see what else this sector does throughout the rest of the year and into 2025”.
