Emplas has joined forces with Wellingborough-based charity, Niamh’s Next Step (NNS) to raise much-needed funds and awareness of Neuroblastoma over the next two years.

Emplas, and its sister company T&K Home Improvements, have been a big part of the Wellingborough community for 46 years and were keen to partner with a local charity.

Set up by Sam and Chris Curry in 2013, Niamh’s Next Step is a charity dedicated to the memory of their daughter, Niamh, who lost her battle against Neuroblastoma cancer at the age of 5. Neuroblastoma is a rare childhood cancer that affects around 100 children in the UK each year. It usually affects children under the age of five and can occur before a child is born. NNS is dedicated to raising money to help fund research into the condition and support children and families affected by the cruel disease.

Jody Vincent, Emplas Sales Director, commented: “Using our company values of pride, integrity, teamwork, excellence, and determination, we plan to raise essential funds to support NNS and raise awareness of Neuroblastoma. Through a mix of events, we aim to raise £30,000 by the end of 2026.

“To help achieve this target, we’ve put together an action-packed calendar that includes race events, the Waendel Walk, quiz nights, and a football five-a-side competition for internal colleagues. Customers will also be able to show their support for NNS at hospitality events this year including the much-anticipated Emplas Open golf day.”

The first event is coming up on 2 March, with a team of four Emplas Runners taking part in a 10k race at Stanwick Lakes in Northamptonshire. The runners will participate in five races this year, including the Birmingham Half Marathon and the Great North Run.
