Ecoglass and Rippleacts: Championing local support

Based in the city of Norwich, family-owned Ecoglass has made significant and confident strides throughout 2025. As recent recipients of Glass Company of the Year at the G Awards, the business has demonstrated that its values extend far beyond its factory walls, taking a proactive role in supporting meaningful social value initiatives across the city.
From fundraising for cancer research in honour of their late colleague Colin Sturdy, to welcoming Ellis Hopper on a summer student placement, and most recently partnering with Rippleacts, a Norwich-based social enterprise founded by Verena Niyadurupola, the Ecoglass team has shown a clear commitment to championing local growth, opportunity and community support.
“For us, supporting our community isn’t an add-on, it’s an active part of who we are,” said Mark High, Company Director. “We’re proudly shaped by our values, and I feel a genuine responsibility to use my role to create positive change wherever we can. Leading our social value activity is something I’m incredibly proud of, and it reflects exactly how we want to continue growing as a business.”
In October, Mark High took part in Rippleacts’ Employers’ Brunch, an event that brought together senior leaders from across the region to share company insights, offer interview guidance, and demystify workplace expectations. For participants facing long-term unemployment, the session created a rare opportunity to engage directly with employers in a relaxed, open environment, helping to build confidence and widen access to future opportunities.
“Ecoglass has always been about our people and community.” Continues Mark. “This event allowed us to share our perspective as an employer, answer questions honestly, and hopefully help people see that the workplace can be open, supportive and full of opportunity. Rippleacts embodies the same principles we value, and I’m proud to contribute as we grow this collaboration in the months ahead.”
A year of purpose-driven progress
Ecoglass’ community activity throughout 2025 mirrors the ethos that has guided the business for more than 75 years, a belief in people, responsibility, and doing the right thing. As the company looks ahead to 2026, it remains firmly committed to strengthening local partnerships, creating opportunities, and contributing positively to the region it proudly calls home.
