What National Apprenticeship Week means to Kettell Windows

To celebrate the recent National Apprenticeship Week, Lisa Kettell, Co-Director at Kettell Windows, took to social media to share how proud she was at the two apprentices currently at the company.
The apprentices, Jack Wardle and Riley Fagan, have been supported by Lisa along with the wider Kettell team from the beginning of their apprenticeship journey.
Lisa said: “It is not easy for small businesses to take on apprentices. The time, money & effort required is challenging when you have finite resources.
“However, John (Kettell – Director) & I feel the cause and need to support new entrants into the industry is bigger than us and a necessity for installer businesses of all sizes.”
She added: “The skills shortage gets talked about constantly, but it needs action!
“So, with Jack due to take his final assessment later this month and Riley coming up to a year on his journey, we can celebrate the efforts and be proud of the installers we are creating for the industry of the future.”
If anyone wants to reach out and understand how to go about the process of recruiting, including the time and efforts required, Lisa has implored businesses to get in touch.
She concluded: “It’s not easy, but then nothing worth having is, is it?!”
