VEKA in the community

Every other Wednesday, VEKA employees visit Burnley Cricket Club to show support for Burnley FC in the Community No Nay Never Dementia Café.
For the last 12 months, the VEKA team have volunteered to attend the Dementia Café. They get to engage with the families and staff that attend the café, join in with activities and play the odd game of dominos.
Amy Steven, VEKA Divisional Sales Director, who is also the ambassador for this community project said: “As a business employing hundreds of local people, it’s really important for us to give something back to our local community. VEKA has been funding Burnley FC in the Community’s ‘No Nay Never Dementia Café’ for a number of years, so we really wanted to understand how this make a difference.
“Every fortnight, members of the VEKA team visit the café to engage with local people. It’s a warm and friendly environment, where we play dominoes and bingo….and can sometimes be ‘encouraged’ onto the dancefloor! It’s a real privilege to spend time with local people and their families and we’re proud of the difference our support makes.”
