Star in the STY: Sarah Ball

Our Star in the STY this week’s is the person who puts the whole thing together, PiGs’ very own Sty Master, Sarah Ball!
Name: Sarah Ball
Company: PiGs
Been going to PiGs since: 2004
Favourite PiGs location: BirmingHAM
Tipple of choice: Draught cider
What’s the best thing about PiGs? It’s all the relationships I’ve been able to form and how many of those have turned into true friendships over the years
What makes PiGs different from other industry events? It works on a people-first basis. PiGs is built on long term relationships that have trust, so when people need something from the industry, they have some real friends they can turn to.
Who’s someone you love catching up with at a PiGs event? George! This is the only time’s we get to see each other in person! We work all week together and speak every day, but rarely catch up in person.
Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)? When I took the champagne cork out of a bottle with a machete (called sabrage), given to me by Andrew Haring at PiGs Vegas.
I saw it on the film What Happens in Vegas and to be able to do it for real in Vegas was a memorable moment in my whole life let alone at PiGs!
Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could? Belfast, it’s one of my favourite cities. And to now have added that to the event calendar for 2026 is really exciting and I am really looking forward to it.
Who in the industry should come to the next PiGs event (in one sentence)? Young people in the industry or people just starting off in the industry. They will be given much more of a depth to our amazing industry. PiGs is not designed just for the managers, it’s designed for everyone!
