Star in the Sty: Greg Smith

The regular Star in the Sty feature showcases many of the industry who regularly attend the PiGs networking events and support PiGs. Our newest Star is Greg Smith of Hegla UK! Find out more about Greg below.
Name: Greg Smith
Company: Hegla UK
Been going to PiGs since: Probably since 2004.
Favourite PiGs location: Spent some very long evenings in many London bars
Tipple of choice: A good hazy IPA
What’s the best thing about PiGs? Great networking event appealing to the industry that would attend the opening of an envelope, if there was a beer involved.
What makes PiGs different from other industry events? You get the same mix of customers, as you would at an exhibition, but they are less stressed about time constraints to see the other 20 suppliers at the show.
Here everyone is in the same room.
Who’s someone you love catching up with at a PiGs event? Always the guys from Mi Glass.
Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)?
A messy night (aren’t they all?) in a pub in Covent Garden.
There’s probably still an imprint of my back in the wall from where I ended up reversing into it while trying to reclaim a bit of personal space from a member of the assembled press.
The best memory is Claire Broxton walking past, laughing her head off at the scene.
Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could? Just keep rotating through the UK and Irish cities.
Who should come to the next PiGs event (in one sentence)? Anyone who would like to meet the finest characters of the fenestration industry, assembled in one place.
