Sidey delight at award-winning apprentice

Sidey has announced that its Apprentice Installer, Billy Bagnall, has won the Modern Apprentice of the Year award at the DYW (Developing the Young Workforce) Awards, held at the Apex Hotel in Dundee.

The company said that this outstanding achievement highlights Billy’s dedication, skill, and the exceptional support from our team, demonstrating the success of Sidey’s commitment to nurturing young talent.

Billy’s journey at Sidey is said to be a shining example of how dedication and the right support can lead to exceptional results. His award reflects the investment Sidey puts into its apprentices and the high standards of training we maintain.

Sidey also wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible team behind Billy’s success. Donna Montgomery, Sidey’s Community Benefits Manager, has been instrumental in developing and running the Training Academy, passionately supporting apprentices every step of the way.

Kenny Milne, Joinery Manager, ensures that the training process is both comprehensive and engaging, providing a solid foundation for our apprentices to thrive. And a special shoutout goes to Alan Neary, Billy’s Journeyman, whose guidance and support have been invaluable throughout Billy’s apprenticeship.

“Billy’s hard work and commitment have truly paid off, and this award is well deserved,” said Steve Hardy, Joint Managing Director at Sidey. “We are extremely proud of Billy and the entire team who have contributed to this success. This recognition not only celebrates Billy’s achievements but also underscores the importance of investing in our young workforce and the future of our industry.”
