PiGs Vegas Is Always A Good Idea!
People in Glazing Society (PiGs) went stateside for GlassBuild America in October with a British-STYle party for our self-confessed ‘glass nerds’ across the pond.
Following the success of The British Pavilion at the show, where WINtek, by Georgian Bar Company, UAP Ltd, Business Micros and CiiLock Engineering came together to showcase innovation from the UK’s window and door industry, more than 85 ‘PiGs’ gathered at The Crown & Anchor – a British pub.
PiGs organiser Sarah Ball said: “We started the PiGs party early on The British Pavilion at the show, where the exhibiting companies and Quickslide clubbed together for some well-earned beers on the stand.
“Then we headed over to the Crown & Anchor that was so British it has a dart board, karaoke and even a cardboard cut-out of HM Queen Elizabeth II! We had a great mix of UK PiGs who had come to check out what was on show at GlassBuild and some American friends who were keen to see how the PiGs like to party!”
After a buffet of Scotch eggs, sausage rolls and mini Fish ‘n’ Chips, the party continued with some karaoke appearances and the opening of a few bottles of champagne with a machete – just like Cameron Diaz in the film ‘What Happens in Vegas’. Sarah Ball did the honours of the champagne opening, coached by Andrew Haring of the National Glass Association and Dave Watters of SupaLite Tiled Roof Systems also had a go!
Sarah added: “This is the second time we have brought the PiGs party to Vegas to coincide with GlassBuild and we will definitely be back! As always, huge thanks goes to our amazing list of PiGs Vegas sponsors – we couldn’t do it without you!”
The generous companies who sponsored the Vegas event were: Bison Frames, BM Group, CiiLock Engineering, Edgetech UK, Emplas, Extrudaseal, The Georgian Bar Company, GlassBuild America, Glazpart, ICD Coatings, Inagas, Kubu, Quickslide, RegaLead, SupaLite Tiled Roofs, UAP Ltd, Window Ware, WINtek and Yale WDS.
GlassBuild America 2023 takes place in Atlanta – if you would like to be involved with the next PiGs in America event, email sty@peopleinglazing.co.uk.
