Kingfisher Windows shortlisted for prestigious G-Awards 2026

Kingfisher G awards 2026

Kingfisher Windows has been shortlisted for Commercial Project of the Year at the G-Awards 2026 for its work on the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease in Seacroft, Leeds.

The G-Awards is firmly established as one of the most prestigious events in the UK glass and glazing industry.

Launched in 2004, the awards celebrate innovation, outstanding performance and excellence across the sector, recognising the companies, individuals and projects helping to move the industry forward.

Being shortlisted is a significant achievement for Kingfisher Windows, particularly given the importance and technical complexity of the Rob Burrow Centre project.

The purpose-built facility brings together specialist care, research and therapy for people living with motor neurone disease (MND), creating a welcoming environment for patients and their families, with a strong emphasis on comfort, dignity and natural light.

Kingfisher Windows was appointed to design, supply and install the complete aluminium façade, working alongside architect Corstorphine & Wright, main contractor I&G and client Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

The package included TECHNAL TENTAL 50 curtain walling, SOLEAL Next 75 high-performance aluminium windows and the STII Commercial Door System.

Triple glazing, complex structural requirements and a change from the originally specified hybrid timber/aluminium system presented additional challenges.

The project also required extensive technical preparation, fabrication training and specialist installation techniques to handle the large, heavy glass units.

Deborah McKenzie, Sales and Marketing Director at Kingfisher Windows, said: “Being shortlisted for a G-Award is a great achievement for everyone involved in this project.

“The Rob Burrow Centre is an incredibly important facility, and we are proud to have played our part in creating a building that will make a real difference to people living with MND and their families.

“From the technical challenges of the façade to the coordination and installation involved, this was a project that required a real team effort. It is particularly rewarding to see that work recognised by the industry.”

The G-Awards 2026 gala dinner takes place on Friday 27 November at the London Hilton on Park Lane, where the winners will be announced.
