Our client has a rare and excellent opportunity for a Head of Technical to join the business where, in conjunction with the senior leadership team, you will lead the technical development of new products, improve existing products and help to define improved manufacturing systems required for the efficient production of cutting edge new products.

The role:

• Working within a new product project team you will provide technical expertise and leadership into product development plans, and help to bring high performing new products into production
• Evaluate projects and prepare feasibility studies to assess the value proposition and to determine project plans
• Assess the manufacturing set up and help to recommend and acquire manufacturing equipment and to upgrade the facility systems as required
• Prepare manufacturing documentation required for new product manufacture
• Drive down waste through lean manufacturing tools and techniques

Skills & Experience:

• Significant hands-on experience of the technology and processes involved with new product design, testing and manufacturing within the window manufacturing sector is essential
• Experience to include extrusion technology & processes, structural calculations and thermal simulations
• Robust knowledge of building regulations, standards, testing and certification
• A proven ability to lead new product introduction within a manufacturing environment
• The successful candidate will have good people, communication and teamworking skills IT skills to include AutoCAD 2D & 3D, Solidworks 3D, MS Project (or similar) and Product Data Management system
