Introducing the Institute of Architectural Glazing

IAG logo 2025

The Institute of Architectural Glazing (IAG) — a not-for-profit organisation built by industry professionals, for the industry, has officially launched.

The IAG’s mission is simple but vital: To raise standards, promote skills, and build a more inclusive, better connected architectural glazing, façades, and fenestration sector.

IAG says it has been created to open doors — for students, service leavers, NEET individuals, ex-offenders, and anyone looking for a fresh start or a better route into the built environment.

It says it is building structured training and competency frameworks that actually reflect the real-world demands of the construction industry — from the drawing board to installation.

And it is developing a mentor-led membership network to support growth, recognition and ongoing professional development across every level.
Our ultimate goal is to create a linear path from education directly into the sector.

If you believe the industry can be smarter, fairer, and more future-ready — join the IAG.

The founding members are:

  • William Sharman @ Cantifix
  • Simon Culmer @ Maxlight
  • Daniel Rickman @ Structura
  • James Philpot @ EAG
  • David Lonergan @ Framework Solutions

Outside of the founding members, companies that have also signed up to be part of the IAG include: Red Systems, Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF), Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB), The IAST, ALUK, Aluminium Fire Systems, CITB, Go Construct, with more to follow.

This is just the beginning.
