Industry Veteran Kevin Richards Launches Lumin Consultancy

Industry Veteran Kevin Richards has launched Lumin Consultancy, to support growth and connection in the fenestration sector.

After more than 30 years in the fenestration industry, Kevin Richards has announced the launch of Lumin Consultancy, a new independent venture aimed at supporting fabricators and installers through practical, experience-led guidance and industry connections.

Kevin’s career in fenestration spans a wide range of roles – from hands-on manufacturing, including sealing double glazed units, to technical and commercial positions involving aluminium systems, ironmongery, and structural glazing. His background includes working with some of the sector’s most respected businesses, building a reputation for being reliable, honest, and technically capable.

“I’ve reached a point in my career where I wanted to do something more meaningful with the experience I’ve gained,” Kevin explained. “I’ve always enjoyed helping people – whether that’s solving technical challenges, introducing them to better solutions, or supporting their business decisions.”

Lumin Consultancy is designed to offer flexible, freelance support across the fenestration sector. Services include technical and sales consultancy, short-term admin or sales cover, and introductions to vetted supply partners. Kevin emphasises that the consultancy is as much about relationships as it is about results.

“Trust is key in this industry,” Kevin added. “I’ve always tried to be genuine and fair in how I work with people, and I hope that those who’ve worked with me would say the same. I’m not here to hard-sell anything – I’m here to help businesses find the right fit, whether that’s a supplier, a product solution, or just someone to bounce ideas off.”

A self-described technical thinker, Kevin has a particular interest in product development, performance optimisation, and complex project specification. His past roles have involved everything from CAD design of structural glazing to advising on advanced glass specifications.

Lumin Consultancy is now actively supporting both fabricators and installers across the UK and is open to expanding its network of supply partners to meet client needs.
