Glazing Summit 2025: George’s Thoughts

George Lewis, Editor at PiGs aka People in Glazing Society, discusses this year’s Glazing Summit, what stood out, and how he thinks this will affect the glazing sector for the rest of 2025 and into 2026.
I really enjoyed my trip up to Coventry for Glazing Summit 2025, it really is a fantastic day and an event that really has importance in the glazing calendar.
It was great to be there with my PiGs partner Sarah Ball, this time without our usual hosting duties that we have at our PiGs networking events. Having the space to simply connect, chat, and network with so many familiar and new faces was a real highlight, and for me, something that the PiGs events have really helped with.
The conference itself was packed with insight and energy from across the supply chain, although as is normal with these events, the lack of installers in the room is a concern as for me, it’s very important to get their input into shaping the future of our industry.
My standout moments
Whilst every presentation and panel provided a lot of information to take away, there were a few presentations that stood out.
Simon Jarman from Clever Bean Accounting delivered some brilliant advice on how business owners can “fix those finances”, while Certass’ Jon Vanstone gave a fascinating (and slightly alarming!) explanation of the new Super Regulator, aka the “Megulator”, and why it’s so important we stay ahead of upcoming regulatory changes.
There was also a no-nonsense presentation (and poem!) from Quickslide’s Adrian Barraclough, while the Apprentices in Action panel reminded me why I’m such a big advocate for bringing fresh talent into our sector, whether it be through apprenticeships.
What really struck me, though, was the passion in the room, whether that be presenters or those in attendance. There was a real shared desire to collaborate, innovate, and push our industry forward. We absolutely know how good we are, but now it’s time to show everyone else and shout even louder from our figurative soap boxes.
And lastly, I just wanted to say a huge congratulations to Chris, Sat, and the whole team for pulling off such a well-organised and thought-provoking conference, and to see the PiGs logo up on stage, and to have a shout out at the start of the event just showed me how far we’ve come at PiGs since I started in 2024.
I already look forward to next year’s event.
