FIT Show responds to The Chancellor’s Budget

The organisers of the FIT Show discuss last Wednesday’s Budget, and what this means for the fenestration sector.
“The Chancellor’s latest Budget signals a renewed focus on housing, regeneration and business investment – welcome news for the fenestration sector.
“With demand for windows, doors and façades expected to rise, the sector is well positioned to benefit from the measures announced. Continued investment in technology, automation, skills and process efficiencies will be key to supporting growth, speeding up project delivery, and maintaining compliance with evolving standards.
“Support for affordable housing and energy-efficient improvements should help sustain a strong pipeline of work for installers, builders and specifiers alike. Measures to ease the cost of doing business also have the potential to strengthen smaller firms, helping them adopt digital tools and boost productivity across the supply chain.
“For homeowners, the £5 billion energy efficiency scheme and the extension of 0% VAT on home upgrades – including high-performance windows, doors and glazing – make sustainable improvements more accessible. The introduction of free apprenticeships for under-25s is another positive step that should help address skills shortages and encourage future talent into the industry.
“As the UK’s flagship event for the fenestration industry, FIT Show 2027 will be a critical platform for the sector to respond to these changes.
“Our CPD-accredited content programme, live demonstrations and industry networking will help manufacturers, fabricators, installers and specifiers access the latest skills, best practice and product innovations to deliver projects faster and more efficiently.
“By bringing the entire supply chain together, FIT Show will help the market turn today’s fiscal announcements into tomorrow’s projects, partnerships and sustainable growth.”
