Hörmann Truedor Roadshow Showcases Installer Growth Opportunities

Hörmann Truedor has successfully completed the first of their nationwide series of roadshows, designed to demonstrate how entrance door installers can unlock new business growth through its composite door offering and comprehensive dealer support package.

Held as an informal early morning event at the Leicester Tigers stadium, the roadshow brought together installers over coffee and breakfast to explore opportunities to expand their product portfolios. The Hörmann Truedor team were on hand to outline how the range of UK-manufactured composite doors, backed by Hörmann’s engineering expertise, strong brand reputation and nationwide infrastructure, can provide a high-quality, consumer-focused addition to existing offerings.

A key highlight of the events was the introduction of Hörmann’s latest consumer marketing initiative, Hörmann Street. This targeted social media campaign, inspired by popular UK soap operas, features a fictional street and a cast of recurring characters navigating everyday drama, relationships and suspense. Each episode subtly integrates the features and benefits of Hörmann Truedor composite doors, aiming to drive traffic to the company’s website and generate genuine homeowner enquiries.

Attendees were given an exclusive preview of the campaign, which received an overwhelmingly positive response. Hörmann confirmed that all enquiries generated through the campaign will be directed to approved dealers via its new online Installer Finder, offering installers a clear commercial advantage. To help maximise conversion rates, the company has also implemented a suite of practical sales tools and support, including an advanced online Door Designer, product training, marketing resources and ongoing technical assistance.

Four further roadshows will take place between 8.00 am and 10.00 am at the following venues:

Tuesday 2nd June, Edinburgh – The Norton House Hotel, Ingliston

Thursday 4th June, Leigh – Leigh Sports Village, home of Man United Women and Under 21’s

Tuesday 9th June, Twickenham – The Twickenham Stoop, home to Harlequins RFC

Thursday 11th June, Bristol – Ashton Gate Stadium, home of Bristol City FC and Bristol Bears

In addition to the long-term growth potential, installers attending the roadshows will have access to a range of launch incentives, including a £1,500 door voucher package, a 750-point sign-up bonus for the Hörmann Rewards programme and free access to the Door Designer for the first year.

ISEO, a leading global manufacturer of high-security cylinders, multipoint locks, panic hardware and smart access solutions, has confirmed its participation at FIT Show 2027 – marking a significant step in the brand’s UK market expansion.

With more than 30 years’ presence in the UK and a direct sales team now firmly established over the past 3 years, ISEO sees FIT Show 2027 as a pivotal moment to step forward as a direct, long-term OEM partner for door manufacturers – moving beyond distribution to become the integrated hardware solution of choice for PVC, aluminium and security-focused OEMs.

Already established as a trusted name in panic hardware, locks and cylinders, ISEO has significantly strengthened its presence over the past three years with a dedicated UK sales operation and a sharper focus on door manufacturers and aluminium, system companies. FIT Show 2027 will act as a key platform to accelerate that growth, with clear objectives around OEM lead generation, showcasing new mechanical and smart products, and reinforcing ISEO’s reputation for quality, availability and support.

At FIT Show 2027, ISEO will present a working door demo that brings together its latest multipoint lock technology, three‑star cylinder solutions and a flexible smart access ecosystem. The stand will be designed to give visitors a true “hands‑on” experience – from feeling the mechanical performance of the new 2027 multipoint lock through to testing app‑driven access, smart handles and connected security features on the same door.

“Our goal for FIT Show 2027 is very clear – we want PVC and aluminium, composite and timber door manufacturers, OEMs and fabricators to see the full breadth of what ISEO can offer as a group,” said Adam Wearing, ISEO UKI & North America – Trade & OEM Sales Manager. “Many in the UK know us for cylinders and hardware; fewer realise that we also bring advanced multipoint locking and smart access control solutions to the table, backed by strong stock availability and a committed local team. FIT Show is the ideal place to change that perception and start new conversations.”

The stand will be targeted primarily at OEM door manufacturers, PVC, Composite, timber and aluminium door system companies, and integrated security manufacturers and specifiers who influence hardware and access decisions. ISEO will focus on helping these visitors:

Simplify their hardware and access control procurement by working with a single, trusted group supplier.

Upgrade from basic mechanical locking to integrated systems that combine three‑star cylinders, panic hardware and smart access under one brand.

De‑risk specifications with products that meet stringent performance and security expectations, including Secured by Design‑aligned solutions and GAI‑driven best practice.

“ISEO is exactly the type of brand we’re excited to welcome to FIT Show 2027,” said Nickie West, Event Director, FIT Show. “They combine decades of experience with a renewed UK focus on OEM partnerships, smart access and high‑performance locking. Their door demo will give visitors a tangible way to explore both mechanical and connected solutions in one place, and we’re delighted that they’ve chosen FIT Show as the platform to drive their next phase of UK growth.”

Quickslide has officially signed up for FIT Show 2027, kicking off preparations a year before the doors open.

And if the company’s previous appearances are anything to go by, visitors can expect far more than just windows on display.

Returning to a prominent open four-sided stand at J50, the Yorkshire-based sash window manufacturer is promising another high-energy, interactive experience packed with the latest developments to its award-winning Legacy sliding sash window range, alongside practical sales and marketing tools that can help installers win more business.

Known for creating some of the busiest stands at FIT Show, Quickslide is once again planning an experience that combines innovation, customer engagement, and plenty of fun.

“We want our stand to feel like Quickslide – open, welcoming, full of energy and somewhere people genuinely enjoy spending time,” said Sandra Berg, Marketing Manager at Quickslide.

“FIT Show is a great opportunity to catch up with customers, share ideas and showcase what’s next. We’re continually evolving our Legacy range and investing in the features, finishes and innovations that give installers more reasons to choose Quickslide. Visitors to FIT Show 2027 will be among the first to see some of those developments.”

Visitors to the stand will be able to explore the latest developments across the Legacy range, including Legacy Protect, developed in partnership with Kubu Smart Security, Legacy Premier, Quickslide’s premium heritage package, as well as recent enhancements such as the new Chalk White finish and concealed head vent option.

Combined, these developments form part of Quickslide’s ongoing investment in the Legacy range, helping installers stay ahead of changing homeowner expectations.

And according to Quickslide, there’s still plenty more to come.

“We’ve got another year before the show opens, and we’re not done yet,” added Sandra. “We’re always looking at ways to improve our products, strengthen our offering and make life easier for installers, so visitors can expect a few more surprises between now and FIT Show 2027.”

Quickslide has built a reputation for creating engaging and memorable FIT Show experiences, an approach that helped it attract the highest number of visitors at the previous show.

Nickie West, Event Director at FIT Show, welcomed Quickslide’s return for 2027. “It’s fantastic to see Quickslide committing a year in advance and bringing that same enthusiasm and creativity back to FIT Show,” she said. “When businesses get behind the event, it creates the buzz, atmosphere and engagement that make FIT Show special.”

She added: “I believe Quickslide was one of the very first companies, if not the very first, to sign up to the original FIT Show, so it’s brilliant to see that relationship continuing over a decade later. They always bring something different, something entertaining and something people remember.”

To mark the announcement, Quickslide has released a new social media video teasing its FIT Show 2027 plans, continuing the fun, people-focused approach to marketing that the company has become known for across the industry. The video also features a special guest appearance from FIT Show Commercial Manager, Rik Henderson.

With twelve months still to go, Quickslide says visitors can expect more reveals, more surprises and more reasons to catch them at FIT Show 2027.

One thing’s for sure – this won’t be a stand to miss.

Industry workshop reveals critical knowledge gaps in compliance regs and sustainability

Critical knowledge gaps are stalling building projects and undermining sustainability goals, according to an industry insights session led by Eurocell, the UK’s leading manufacturer and recycler of PVC-U windows and doors.

A lack of confidence around building regulation compliance – particularly Parts L, O and E – alongside misconceptions about sustainable materials means UK building projects risk facing a dual threat of costly remedial work and significant delays.

The balancing act of compliance

A key takeaway from the industry workshop was that evolving Building Regulations continue to pose a challenge.

The introduction of Part O (overheating) has raised questions about how it might affect window sizes, and whether its scope might expand beyond new-build dwellings to include major renovations and extensions in the future. For now, its strict requirements apply only to new residential constructions.

While the simplified method within Part O places strict limits on glazing-to-floor area ratios, many specifiers are finding that dynamic thermal modelling is required to maintain larger window designs without failing compliance.

Another point made clear by the session is that UK builders and specifiers are stuck in a balancing act, struggling to meet the demands of different regulations that sometimes seemingly conflict with each other. Parts L and O are examples of this – one demands higher insulation and low air leakage, while the other wants to prevent excess heat from building up.

Furthermore, Part O’s ventilation requirements often clash with the acoustic requirements set out in Part E, especially for projects in urban environments.

To navigate this, Eurocell advises that specifiers can consider a more integrated approach – using a combination of acoustic glazing, controlled ventilation, shading, layout planning and mechanical or passive cooling solutions – rather than viewing regulations in isolation.

Thermal trap

The workshop also revealed that the relationship between insulation and solar gain remains a technical blind spot for many, making it difficult to meet Passivhaus standards. Lowering the U-value to improve insulation generally reduces the g-value as well, as high-performance coatings often block some solar radiation.

Arron Crisp, Technical Specification Manager at Eurocell said: “Following the Government’s update to the Future Homes Standard, the industry’s now gearing up to meet these elevated requirements. While the pressure is on to adapt to these new benchmarks and the transition from SAP 10.3 to the new Home Energy Model (HEM), confusion remains about existing legislation, specifically the June 2022/23 updates to Parts L and O, which have already been in place for several years.

“We need clear, actionable guidance to avoid the cycle of non-compliant builds, delays and costly redesigns. Builders and specifiers must be brought along on the journey when new regulations are being developed and introduced. Only then will the industry feel confident and truly ready to implement these changes.”

Challenging the ‘plastic is bad’ narrative

Sustainability remains a hot topic, yet the workshop revealed that the industry is still unclear on the sustainability aspects of modern materials like PVC-U.

There’s an old narrative that plastic is bad for sustainability, but this isn’t always the case. The session highlighted that through advanced co-extrusion and up to 10 recycling cycles, the material lifecycle of PVC-U can span 300+ years, maintaining high structural and thermal performance throughout.

Furthermore, PVC-U offers a significantly lower embodied carbon footprint than aluminium, something that will be increasingly vital as the industry moves towards low-carbon home mandates. Furthermore, the mechanical recycling of PVC-U is a significantly less energy-intensive process than the smelting required for recycled aluminium, contributing to a lower initial embodied carbon footprint for PVC-U frames.

Exactly how the age of plastic and its recycling history might be proven, though, remains an ongoing challenge. While exact tracking of individual frames isn’t yet possible, batch-level traceability and mechanical testing can help to ensure material integrity and traceability through recycling loops.

However, there are options that may become more viable in the future – such as digital product passports or embedded QR codes – that will enable the precise tracking of production batches, recycling history and material composition.

With the Future Homes Standard coming into force, Eurocell’s latest consultation highlights the need for clarity and a more collaborative approach to technical education in the sector.

By bridging the gap between regulatory theory and on-site application, the industry can treat Building Regulations and sustainability goals as complementary and achievable goals, rather than conflicting obstacles.

Forel, the Italian glass processing machinery specialist, will return to FIT Show 2027 after a highly successful debut in 2025, having more than tripled its stand space and secured a frontline position for the next event.

Taking place from 18 – 20 May at the NEC, Birmingham, FIT Show is the UK’s only dedicated fabricator and installer trade show, bringing together manufacturers, installers, fabricators, specifiers and industry professionals under one roof. For businesses like Forel, it provides a highly targeted platform to showcase innovation, meet customers face-to-face and drive meaningful commercial conversations with the sector.

Forel’s expanded presence for 2027 reflects the strong response to its FIT Show 2025 debut, where it launched its triple thin concept for manufacturing a triple IGU using a 1.0mm inner glass pane. The launch generated significant interest from IGU manufacturers, processors and systems houses, helping position Forel at the centre of conversations about performance, efficiency and future-proofing in the glass sector.

The more than tripled stand space for 2027 mirrors that innovation-led message and underlines the scale of Forel’s ambition for the next show. With a significantly larger footprint and a prominent frontline location, the company will be able to maximise the impact of its participation and showcase its latest machinery innovations to an even broader audience.

Forel will utilise FIT Show 2027 to showcase its latest machinery innovations, reconnect with customers and continue conversations that began at FIT Show 2025 around the future of high-performance glass processing.

As the market continues to move toward higher thermal performance standards, FIT Show remains a vital meeting place for the industry, offering businesses the opportunity to discover new technologies, understand market developments and build relationships that support long-term growth.

Brian McDonald, Forel UK & Ireland CEO, said: “We see FIT Show as the premium event for the UK and Ireland glass and fenestration industry. Our 2025 presence gave us the springboard to introduce triple thin and start meaningful conversations about what the market needs next. In 2027, we want to build on that momentum, demonstrate our latest technology live and show how Forel continues to deliver practical innovation with real commercial value.”

“Forel’s journey is a great example of how FIT Show helps businesses turn innovation into industry conversation,” adds Nickie West, FIT Show event director. “Their return in 2027, alongside their 50-year celebrations, shows the value of using the show not just to exhibit, but to build momentum, strengthen relationships and shape what comes next for the sector.”

Alongside the exhibition floor, FIT Show’s Learning Program will explore key issues affecting the industry, including thermal regulations, compliance, product performance and emerging market trends, offering practical insight for visitors across the supply chain.

Forel, which was founded in 1976, will begin its 50-year celebrations this May. The business continues to design and manufacture flat glass and insulating glass processing solutions entirely in-house from its headquarters in Vallio di Roncade, Italy, and serves customers in more than 70 countries.

With 280 employees, four foreign subsidiaries and 33 active proprietary patents, Forel remains focused on combining industrial continuity with ongoing innovation and international growth.

Further details on Forel’s FIT Show 2027 presence will be announced in due course.

EVA CRM, the newly launched CRM business developed in-house by the Emplas group, will make its debut at FIT Show 2027, the UK’s only dedicated fabricator and installer tradeshow, taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 18 – 20 May, 2027.

Using FIT Show as a launchpad, EVA CRM will introduce its platform to a wider market of fabricators, installers and related trade businesses, while building on the success of the system already developed and used within the wider Emplas business.

Developed over the last 24 months by an in-house IT team, EVA CRM has been created to support different business models and offer a more flexible approach to customer relationship management. The platform is designed to integrate directly with manufacturers, pulling data into the CRM through API links and helping businesses streamline operations, improve accuracy and support growth.

Importantly, EVA CRM has been established as a separate brand and business, distinct from Emplas, allowing it to develop its own market identity while still drawing on the experience and technical capability behind its creation.

The brand recently launched its new website, www.evacrm.co.uk, marking another key step in its go-to-market strategy as it prepares to build awareness ahead of FIT Show 2027 and beyond.

Headed up by Jo Savant, EVA CRM will utilise FIT Show 2027 as an opportunity to introduce EVA CRM properly to the market and connect with a broader audience of fabricators, installers, doors and windows businesses and wider trade partners.

Jo-Anne Savant said: “FIT Show gives us the ideal platform to launch EVA CRM to the market in a meaningful way. We’ve built the system carefully over the last 24 months and we see the show as a great opportunity to open up those conversations, demonstrate how it works in practice and show how it can support business growth.”

Nickie West, FIT Show event director, added: “It’s always exciting to welcome new brands to FIT Show, especially those using the event as a launchpad for growth. EVA CRM is a great addition to the show because it brings something new and relevant for visitors who are looking for smarter, more efficient ways to run their businesses. Its debut reflects the kind of innovation and ambition that makes FIT Show an essential meeting place for the industry.”

EVA CRM’s presence at FIT Show 2027 will support the business as it continues to move towards wider market visibility and a broader commercial rollout.

Further details on the company’s FIT Show 2027 plans will be announced in due course. To find out more about EVA CRM, visit www.evacrm.co.uk.

Heritage Trade Frames has announced plans to relocate its entire operation to a new purpose-built 120,000 sqft headquarters at Arrow Point, Bolton. The move will bring Heritage’s PVC-U, composite and aluminium fabrication facilities together under one roof for the first time. Expected to complete in July 2026, the company anticipates moving into the new premises from January next year.

Located on the adjacent road and just 200 metres from Heritage Trade Frames’ current facilities, the new site will allow a seamless transition with no disruption to production or customer supply.

Paul Culshaw, Managing Director, commented: “This move represents a major milestone for the business. Demand for our products has continued to increase year on year, and this new facility will give us the capacity and environment we need to take the next step in our growth. It’s an investment not only in our company, but in our people and the local community.”

Interestingly, the new headquarters is being built on the former Tesco site in Horwich, the place where Paul Culshaw started his first job at 16.

Paul added: “For me personally, it feels like things have come full circle. To be returning to the site where I began my working life makes this move all the more meaningful.”

The new headquarters will feature state-of-the-art offices, boardrooms and a training centre across three floors. Around 20% of the roof will be fitted with solar panels, supporting Heritage’s sustainability objectives, while the factory has been designed and built to achieve BREEAM Excellent certification, and an EPC rating of A, providing increased natural light and improved working conditions and facilities for the staff.

The site will also offer over 130 parking spaces, including more than 17 EV charging points, and benefits from a prime location just off the M61 with excellent transport links.

Once operational, the move will increase Heritage’s total manufacturing capacity to 5,000 frames per week, supporting growth across all product areas and allowing the business to further expand its range of PVC-U, composite and aluminium windows and doors. To support this increased scale, Heritage is also expanding its fleet of transport, to include HGVs, to further strengthen logistics and delivery efficiency.

Paul added: “Bringing all three of our current factories together will make our operations even more efficient and strengthen our service to customers. Importantly, it also allows us to retain our highly skilled local workforce, which has always been central to our success.”

The relocation follows several years of sustained investment and innovation from the Bolton-based fabricator and CorpAcq. Established in 1989, Heritage has grown to become one of the North West’s leading manufacturers of PVC-U windows, composite doors and aluminium fenestration, recognised for its reliability, product quality and long-term customer partnerships.

Paul concluded: “This is an incredibly exciting time for Heritage Trade Frames. The move marks the start of a new chapter that builds on more than 35 years of growth. Our new facility gives us the platform to continue innovating, investing and delivering the quality, reliability and partnerships our customers expect from us.”

Expansion on this scale is always noteworthy, but in a fluctuating market it is particularly impressive and reflects the strength and stability of Heritage Trade Frames.

German Innovation Award 2026 (Gold) and Red Dot Award 2026 for smart sensor technology

MACO was awarded Gold in the German Innovation Award 2026 in Berlin in the “Excellence in Business to Business – Building & Elements” category. After winning the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026, the Sense by MACO sensor solution has now received its second prestigious European award – a strong indication of its potential in modern, connected window and door systems.

The jury of the German Innovation Award recognises products that stand out for their innovation, progress and added social value. Sense by MACO combines traditional fitting technology with smart sensor technology, thereby meeting key requirements for convenience, security and energy efficiency in smart buildings. The award of a “Gold” medal is impressive proof of the company’s outstanding innovativeness.

The solution also emerged as the winner at the international Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026. The award, which is one of the most prestigious internationally, recognises products that stand out for their exceptional design quality, and evaluated submissions from over 60 countries.

“These two awards clearly demonstrate how effectively Sense by MACO combines innovative functionality with elegant design – and just how relevant this development is for connected applications,” emphasises Christoph Lahnsteiner, Head of Product Management for Doors & Smart Products, who accepted the German Innovation Award on behalf of MACO in Berlin.

Status data for smart buildings

Sense by MACO reliably monitors the status of windows, sliding doors and doors, thereby providing the foundation for modern Smart Home and building applications. Functions such as heating, blinds or security can be specifically linked to the actual status of a specific element – the building component becomes part of a connected building concept. The solution impresses with its concealed integration, low maintenance requirements and – depending on the design – the option to retrofit it.

Five sensor solutions for different applications

Sense by MACO includes five sensor solutions to meet various requirements. Window Pro T&T is designed for the initial fitting of tilt & turn windows and can be integrated directly into the manufacturing process. Window T&T is suitable for practically all windows and, thanks to its adhesive installation, is also particularly easy to retrofit. Casement is designed for windows that open outwards, whilst Door monitors various types of door locks. Universal complements the range for particularly flexible or fitting-independent applications – such as lift & slide doors.

Open for modern environments

Thanks to the Matter standard, Sense by MACO can be integrated into Smart Home systems from any manufacturer. This ensures future-proofing and demonstrates how MACO combines mechanical expertise with digital functionality to form an integral part of modern window, door and sliding door systems.

Building Our Skills is hosting a women-only hands-on learning day

As one of the top promoters of careers in the glazing industry, Building Our Skills is hosting a women-only hands-on learning day for Women in Fenestration Network.

Aimed at gaining practical knowledge of the installation of windows, the day will include both classroom and workshop training. The day will include an overview of the GGF’s installation guidelines, method statements and risk assessments, alongside the removal and fitting of a window in the purpose-designed facilities.

Building our Skills purpose designed training facilities

Sarah Ball, founder of Women in Fenestration Network, said: “I first saw the training centre at the launch last autumn and I have to say I was massively impressed. Everything is designed for trainers to teach small groups of 6 to 8 people. Plus, having the classroom and workshop in such close proximity means that learners get the most out of their training time.

“Having a training day for women is fantastic. It’s designed to give women knowledge and confidence in the whole process of installing windows. It is a must-have addition for women working in the glazing supply chain, whatever role they have, including customer service, processing, sales or marketing, or working within the companies that manufacture and distribute the many components that make up a window.

“We see the support for WFN by BOS as an indication of the importance that women currently play, and will play in the future, in the industry. And having BOS as our training partner is superb.”

WFN organisers are expecting the first session to be very popular, especially as BOS is hosting the first one for free. Further dates will be added with a day delegate rate of £295.

WFN is proud to have BOS as our training partner

Sarah adds: “BOS is an integral part of training for the industry and WFN is proud to have them as our training partner. We can’t thank the team enough.”

WFN will also be working closely with the team at BOS through their outreach programmes to attract more women into the industry.

Aluminium Fire Systems opens its doors to Junior Factory Explorers

Rebecca Sutherland, owner of Aluminium Fire Systems (AFS) recently spent the week taking her children to visit the different companies she’s involved with, giving them the chance to better understand what each business does and meet the people behind them.

Junior Factory Explorers

As part of the visits, the children spent time at AFS learning more about fire rated glazing, exploring the factory, and getting involved in a fun factory hunt organised by Emma Wright, who created personalised “Junior Factory Explorer” packs for the day.

Armed with hi-vis vests, clipboards and plenty of enthusiasm, the children toured the factory searching for different items and learning more about how fire rated windows and doors are manufactured.

Next generation in modern manufacturing

For the team at AFS, the day was about far more than just keeping the children entertained. It was a chance to showcase the culture of the business, involve families in what the team is building, and give the next generation a glimpse into modern manufacturing.

Rebecca said: “I wanted the children to learn more about the businesses I’m involved with and properly understand what they do. It was lovely for them to meet the team, explore the factory and see everything first-hand.

“The visit was also a reminder to me of how far the AFS team has come and the culture they continue to build as the business grows. Seeing the children engage with the factory, meet the team and experience the environment first-hand reinforced the sense of pride shared across the business.”
