Eurocell acquires Alunet to enhance aluminium offering

Alunet Group and its stable of home improvement brands, has been acquired by Derbyshire-based Eurocell.
It is reported that the acquisition will help Alunet Group builds on its position in the UK home improvement market by expanding its residential aluminium systems and composite door offering.
Alunet Group is a UK supplier of luxury aluminium door and window systems, premium solid timber-core doors and a manufacturer of aluminium roller shutter and sectional garage doors.
A new era for Alunet Group
Its business includes four other home improvement brands:
- Alunet Systems: An innovative aluminium systems house focused on the residential sector, with a full range of luxury window and door solutions, including bi-fold and sliding patio doors, sold under the Aluna brand
- Comp Door: A fast-growing manufacturer of premium solid timber-core composite doors
- JDUK: A supplier of premium aluminium garage doors including sectional, side-hinged, entrance and roller door components
- UK Doors (Midlands): A fabricator of aluminium roller shutter garage doors
The acquisition of Alunet Group sees its 200 strong team of aluminium residential product and composite door specialists join Eurocell, with its
Chief Executive Steve Hudson taking up a position on Eurocell’s executive management team.
Steve said: “Alunet Group has always been an agile customer driven business which is one of the reasons why our brands have grown so quickly. Eurocell’s vision, strategy and values completely align with what the leadership team at Alunet Group is aiming to achieve and we believe that becoming a part of Eurocell’s market leading manufacturing and distribution capabilities, will provide incredible opportunities for both Alunet Group and Eurocell customers. It’s a really exciting moment.”
Eurocell is a UK manufacturer, distributor, and recycler of PVC-U windows, doors and building products with over 200 branches across the UK providing a wide range of products for home renovations and new build projects under a single brand. This includes more than 10,000 products across garden rooms, extensions, decking, fencing, roofing, rainwater, interior and exterior cladding and much more.
A ‘key moment’
The acquisition of Alunet Group marks a key moment in Eurocell’s ambitious five-year strategy to grow the business to £500M in revenue. One of the strategic pillars of this strategy is to cement Eurocell’s position as the trade’s preferred choice in all markets and segments it serves, and the addition of Alunet’s teams, products and service, is a significant milestone towards achieving it.
The acquisition enables Eurocell to expand its manufacturing and distribution capabilities with premium quality aluminum window and door profiles, components for the fabrication of residential garage doors and expanded production of solid timber-core composite doors.
Eurocell will now providing a full range of foam-filled and solid timber-core, alongside its PVC panel doors. It also marks Eurocell’s entry into the aluminium garage door market, further expanding its comprehensive home improvement product offering for its partners.
Alunet acquisition ‘a great fit’
Speaking on its acquisition of Alunet Group, Darren Waters, Chief Executive Officer at Eurocell, celebrates a significant milestone on the road to offering customers of both Eurocell and Alunet Group ‘a complete choice of home improvement products’.
He said: “Alunet Group is a great fit for Eurocell. It significantly strengthens our position in aluminium for the residential sector, enhances our composite door offering, and adds a premium range of aluminium garage doors to our portfolio of home improvement products. This gives our trade partners a much wider product basket with which to grow their businesses and vastly more choice for their customers and end-users.
“Homeowners today are much savvier and more knowledgeable about how and with what they want to improve their homes. Our aim is to provide customers with the products they need to meet developing trends and the desires of the market – whether that’s for PVC-U, aluminium, or composite options.
“Alunet Group has grown rapidly since its establishment in 2016 thanks to its expert team. As part of Eurocell, we will leverage its well established product offering by expanding the routes to market through our strong market positions in new build, trade fabrication and our branch network distribution.”
Eurocell serves over 40,000 tradespeople, distributing its products through a vast network of window fabricators, housebuilder partners and specifiers, as well as to installers and direct to homeowners.
