Double G Award nomination delight for Forel UK and Ireland

Forel UK and Ireland has been named a finalist in two categories at this year’s G Awards.
The nominations are said to highlight Forel UK and Ireland’s continued commitment to advancing glass processing technology, and the dedication of its team members who embody the company’s values.
Forel’s first nomination comes in the Machinery Innovation category, in recognition of its latest innovation, the FG (Fast Grinder), which was launched at Vitrum 2025.
The FG has been designed to deliver a perfect edge finish on insulated glass units (IGUs), eliminating the need for traditional edge tape.
Until now, no edge processing machine could reportedly keep pace with an IGU line. The FG changes that.
By being positioned at the front of the line, it can arris and flat-edge glass at the same speed, ensuring efficiency without compromising on quality. This is particularly valuable when working with laminated glass, as it reportedly significantly reduces the risk of breakage during transport.
Forel’s second nomination celebrates one of its most respected team members, Pasquale “Paz” De Lello, shortlisted for the Unsung Hero award.
Paz has worked with Forel for over 30 years, and for the last three years, directly with Forel UK’s parent company.
His extensive knowledge of Forel machinery is said to be “unmatched”, and the company says he has become an indispensable source of support for customers across the UK and beyond — whether answering operator questions or responding to emergencies at all hours.
Fluent in both Italian and English, Paz has played a crucial role as a bridge between Forel’s Italian headquarters and its UK customers.
The company says his efforts have been instrumental in developing Forel’s worldwide service centre, improving communication and strengthening relationships globally, all while modestly insisting it’s simply “part of the service.”
The winners of this year’s G Awards will be announced in London on 28 November.
