‘Window Ware Wanderers’ complete 5km fundraising hike

Despite the cancellation of the Sue Ryder Starlight Hike Bedford 2024 due to severe flooding, a dedicated team from Window Ware, dubbed the ‘Window Ware Wanderers’, were determined to defy the deluge.
Undeterred, the team embarked on their own 5k trek, honouring the spirit of the original event and taking the final steps in their fundraising journey.
The team comprised Philip Freeman, Georgia Khan, Vicky Gibson, Sharon Fowler and her loyal canine companion, Pebble, as well as Laura Haggar, who completed an extended 8k walk with her family the previous weekend.
Laura explained: “We were disappointed that the official event was cancelled, but we were determined to continue our fundraising efforts for such a worthy cause.”
Through their dedication and the generosity of sponsors, the Window Ware Wanderers have raised £270 for Sue Ryder. Every penny will go to support the charity’s vital work in providing compassionate care and support to anyone living with a life-limited illness or grief.
The team sincerely thanks all generous sponsors for their support. Together, they are shining a light on Sue Ryder’s crucial work, demonstrating that every step, rain or shine, makes a difference.
