Steve Hopwood’s Edale Skyline Challenge for Harry’s Pals

Steve Hopwood, UK General Manager of CiiLOCK Engineering, is pushing his limits to raise funds for a charity well known within the fenestration sector; Harry’s Pals.
On Saturday 26 April 2025, Steve will be tackling the Edale Skyline Challenge. This demanding 21 mile hike around the demanding terrain of the beautiful Peak District has an elevation gain of 1400m, and will be completed in just one day!
Harry’s Pals was founded by Hayley and Andy Charlesworth after their son, Harry, was born with severe disabilities as a result of suffering two strokes, on both sides of his brain, before birth. They found themselves without the emotional support they desperately needed which left them feeling overwhelmed and isolated.
Determined to change this, they set up Harry’s Pals to provide vital support and assistance to other families whose children have been diagnosed with life limiting illnesses or disabilities.
Along with providing counselling and therapy, they also offer respite breaks for families to create some special, happy memories with their children.
Steve said: “ I’m really excited to take this challenge on. Andy, Harrys Dad, is a longtime friend in the industry, so supporting Harry’s Pals means a lot to me. I’ll be giving it my all to raise as much as I can”.
He added; “I’m extremely grateful to those who have donated to my fundraiser so far, it’s such a worthwhile cause and I’d love to be able to smash my target of £1,000.”
