Marathon runners help raise vital funds for Harry’s Pals

Last weekend, Sean Whitmore and Amy Harrison completed the London Marathon to raise much needed funds for small charity, Harry’s Pals, set up by Hayley Charlesworth. Many in the industry will know her husband, Andrew, as the Director Global Category Management – WarmCore for Profine Group.
After Hayley and Andrew’s son, Harry, was born severely brain damaged in 2015, Hayley was surprised that there was no support available for families who have been given the earth-shattering news that their child has a life-threatening or life-limiting condition. Having experienced the impact of this lack of support, Hayley decided that something needed to be done to support families like hers and set up Harry’s Pals in 2022.
Sean has three children, one of which being the incredible little Alfie, who has a very rare condition called Marshall-Smith Syndrome. Sean decided he wanted to do something to support Harry’s Pals as a charity that had supported his family in the past and decided that he would run the London Marathon, a huge challenge with lots of training involved.
However, this did not deter him and between being a dad of three, with caring responsibilities and working a full-time job, Sean decided to put his trainers on and cram in a run at any opportunity he could find.
Amy Harrison, his sister-in-law, also feels passionately about supporting Harry’s Pals. She has seen the difference the work the charity does makes to her family and others and wanted to conquer this challenge to help the charity continue with its great work.
Amy and Sean completed the marathon this weekend, despite knee injuries, bleeding feet and lots of pain. They said it was a real test of their strength and determination, and it’s needed a commitment physically and mentally since the day they both signed up.

Andrew is also raising funds for Harry’s Pals by taking part in the Kelly’s Heroes Climb Kilimanjaro challenge in September, where he will jointly fundraise for both charities.
