Hurst’s Hayley Barker Skydives for Dove House Hospice

Hayley Barker of Hurst recently took part in a charity skydive for Dove's House Hospice

Hayley Barker, Group Head of Marketing at Hurst Doors, has successfully completed a charity skydive in support of Dove House Hospice, raising over £1,800 for the Hull-based charity.

The challenge saw Hayley overcome her fear of flying to take to the skies for a 10,000ft jump, including a 7,000ft freefall at speeds of up to 120mph. She described the experience as both exhilarating and unforgettable.

The event formed part of Dove House Hospice’s ongoing fundraising efforts, which help provide vital care and support for people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families across the region.

Speaking about the experience, Hayley said: “It was an incredible day and something I’ll never forget. Knowing that every penny raised goes towards helping families through some of the most difficult times made the whole challenge worthwhile.”

Dove House Hospice relies on the generosity of supporters to continue offering specialist care, bereavement support, and comfort to patients when it’s needed most. Events like the skydive play a crucial role in funding these services.

Hayley’s fundraiser attracted donations from colleagues, friends, and industry partners, helping her far exceed her original target.

“I’m so grateful for everyone’s encouragement and donations,” Hayley added. “It was a real team effort, and I’m proud we could support such an important local cause.”
