Glass Times Editor ‘pushing’ himself to the limit with charity challenge

Glass Times Editor Luke Wood has embarked on the challenge of completing 100 push-ups a day for a month to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Luke explained that taking part in this challenge is his way of helping to raise money for a charity that’s really important to him.

He said: “I decided to take on the challenge because cancer is something that’s had a massive impact on my life. I lost both parents to cancer at a young age, I’ve lost an aunt to cancer, another family member who was only in his 40s…and one of my closest friends has only just been given the all clear from Stage 4 bowel cancer.”

The push-up challenge was due to be throughout April, but as Luke started the challenge slightly late, he will extend the it into the first week of May to make sure he completes a full month.

He explained that he started by doing 100 push-ups in one go, which of course required a big effort and ended up taking him three days to recover from. So to make sure he can complete the challenge every day, he has slightly adjusted his plan to do sets of 30 or 20 at a time.

You can keep up with Luke’s progress on his Facebook and Instagram pages.
