CRASH supports Construction News Awards for 17th time

Construction industry charity CRASH has celebrated its seventeenth consecutive year as the Construction News Awards charity partner.

The awards recognise and reward the People, Pride and Passion of the industry, crowning 24 winners in an array of categories at its ceremony, and once again honouring industry charity CRASH.

Over 1200 guests from across the industry gathered at The Grosvenor House Hotel for an evening of entertainment, awards and delicious food. The evening commenced with a drink’s reception, followed by a welcoming speech from Colin Marrs, Editor at Construction News.

Chief Executive at CRASH, Trisha Pickersgill, spoke to the audience about the challenges facing the homelessness and hospice sectors while outlining the importance of CRASH’s vital work supporting these charities with their building projects.

After dinner, comedian Russell Kane gave an entertaining performance and announced the award winners, with categories including Company Innovation of the Year, Rising Star and Project of the Year. CRASH would like to extend a huge congratulations to those who picked up awards on the night!

Trisha said: “A huge thank you to the guests who donated, raising an amazing £13,279 in aid of CRASH. Your support is integral to CRASH’s mission and without these generous contributions, we could not continue our vital work. The donations will go towards helping people who are homeless and children and adults in hospice care, constructing places that care for some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

“The CRASH team could not have collected donations without the wonderful volunteers who gave their time to help. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you: Ash, Cody, Rhia, Deen, Klara, Charlie, Sam, Dan, Afsheen, Michelle and Colin from Corporate Patrons BAM, Beale & Co, NG Bailey and Knauf. Your dedication and hard work are truly appreciated.

“As the new Chief Executive at CRASH, it was a privilege to be invited to speak to the immensely talented and skilled construction industry professionals, giving them insight into the huge difference they make to individuals’ lives when supporting CRASH. Thank you to all at Construction News for the welcome and support you showed me on the evening. CRASH is extremely proud and honoured to be Construction News’ charity partner.
