Corporate sponsorship for Kelly’s Heroes Climbs Kilimanjaro now live

The corporate sponsorship for the PiGs charity of the year’s fundraising challenge “Kelly’s Heroes Climbs Kilimanjaro” is now live.

Challenge organiser Sarah Ball has brought together a team of 15 intrepid climbers, which includes 12 from the glazing industry, who are taking on the challenge of a lifetime when they scale the 5895m mountain from 12-21 September 2024.

Some of the climbers on board to help tackle the charity event of the year are Lucy Daniels and Mark Towers of composite door manufacturer Doorco, Andrew Charlesworth of Profine, and Solar Fabrications’ Gareth Jones.

They will be joined by Kelly’s Heroes CEO Sherry Adams. Also forming part of the team is Carl Finch. While Carl is not from the glazing sector, he has had first-hand experience in the mental health expertise that Kelly’s Heroes provides daily.

He said that when he suffered with his own mental health problems a couple of years back, Kelly’s Heroes supported him through a tough part of his life, and he has been able to come out the other side a much better and stronger person.

Kelly’s Heroes (formerly known as We Mind & Kelly Matters) was formed in 2019 after the loss of John Hewitt’s daughter Kelly Hewitt.

The initial aims were to raise funds for mental health and bereavement charities, but has now progressed to launch a full range of support services led by Sherry and her team.
Sponsorship for the climb comes in all shape and sizes, from primary position and branding on all Kilimanjaro fundraising and marketing, to having your company’s logo mark on the Kelly’s Heroes website.

However much you want to give to this incredible cause will go a long way to helping Kelly’s Heroes provide a service for an ever-growing mental health problem.

Sarah said: “The glazing industry is the most generous both with time and money. The team are already training hard and raising money.

“Corporate sponsorship is vital for challenges like this. It means we can raise more money for the charity and build awareness around the important work Kelly’s Heroes does.

“This is my second challenge for the charity, and during the first one I found out how much work they do, on such little funding. The charity runs on donations and sponsorships alone. That’s why, I was determined to create a challenge that would bring in significant funds for Kelly’s Heroes.”

Co-Founder John added: “Sarah first mentioned this challenge whilst we were cycling through Europe on the first stage of the Loneliest Road in 2022 and although it wasn’t something I could commit to I knew how important it was to her to take it on. We can only offer the vital support we do with the generosity of fundraisers (like Sarah), donors and sponsors.

“I know how hard Sarah and her team are working on training and organising this event – they are no easy task! I’m also extremely thankful of how incredibly supportive the fenestration industry has been to my family, myself and more importantly the Charity. The life saving work that Sherry and her team do on a daily basis would not exist without such support.”
