CAB’s Jessica Dean to take on charity skydive for Sunflowers

Jessica Dean of CAB is doing a charity skydive for Sunflowers

Jessica Dean of Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) is taking on a skydive for Sunflowers Suicide Supporte on 5 September 2026 in Salisbury.

Jessica is taking on the challenge after Pete Morris took his own life in 2016, and his family were thrust into a new world of police investigations, coroners reports, inquests and many other formalities that they had to navigate alone whilst in the midst of their grief.

It was through this experience that Abbie and Rebecca (Pete’s sisters), with the support of some childhood friends, made the decision to ensure that no other family should be left in the dark to manage alone after being bereaved through suicide.

Sunflowers exists to ensure that people bereaved or impacted by suicide do not have to face that gruelling journey alone. They offer 1:1 bespoke Liaison Support, Counsellor facilitated support groups, Lunch Clubs, Art Groups and Bereavement Events as well as providing community based Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Suicide Awareness training; with the aim of creating a Suicide Safe community.

Sunflowers is a small charity in Gloucestershire, that relies heavily on donations. Any sponsorship would be greatly received.

Jessica said: “Doing a skydive is a huge challenge for me but an opportunity I couldn’t miss, especially whilst raising essential funds for Sunflowers.”
