Brownhills Glass Golf Day for Prostate Cancer

Prostate Cancer Golf Day 6th September 2024 by Darren Goodall from Brownhills Glass Company.

A great day was had by all at the Brownhills Glass Golf Day to support research into Prostate Cancer. The weather was superb and 21 teams played 18 holes of golf at Wharton Park Bewdley.

There were lots of prizes including on hole competitions, and the overall winners Taylored Design Architects took the trophy.

The ‘Beat the Pro’ hole had a shot at the flag & a shot of tequila which had very interesting results. Sponsored holes, raffles, auction & drinks buggy was funded by all and helped achieve funds for the charity.

Lots of glass industry people supported our day c/o Brownhills Glass, United Glass Group, Harris Glass, A C Glazing, A & S Aluminium, Ultra Tough, ACG Windows, Heritage Concept & Design, Glass Express Midlands, Windowright, Leamore Windows & Amber Windows. Many thanks for your valued support.

We try to achieve 3 tick boxes:
1- Awareness of this horrible Cancer and men to get checked with a simple PSA Test
2- Donate loads of money to help Prostate Cancer’s Research & Development
3- Make sure everybody enjoys the day to the max with a smile and loads of banter.

I think all 3 were achieved and we are likely to make the charity donation well over £7,000.

Geoff Swain, World golf trick shot champion, hosted the day and was unbelievable.

Hopefully 2025 charity golf day will be another success.
