What’s the best thing about PiGs? The comradery of the networking itself. We are all in the same industry and it’s about how we can support each other.

What makes PiGs different from other industry events? There is no pressure or expectation to be selling, it’s just a casual, and always productive, meet up with industry friends.

Who’s someone you love catching up with at a PiGs event?  I always looked forward to seeing Paul Proctor, I now work with him and so I see him most days. I also enjoy catching up with Erdogan Akgun from Soudal, he’s a great guy and former colleague, we always have a great conversation when we meet.

Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)? The Boat Trip in London last year was a great event….however it was so hot that it got a bit crammed outside!

Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could? For the weather and beautiful scenery, the Philippines.  However, I think Germany would be a great location due to the great influence of system houses there.

Who should come to the next PiGs event (in one sentence)?  Anyone who wants to create stronger connections within the Fenestration industry.  Also, if you have a problem, you will find someone at a PiGs event that can assist you, there always a huge amount of experience and knowledge in the room!

Favourite PiGs location: Birmingham is always good, nice and close to home too. Manchester is a great City to go out in, but I have a soft spot for PiGs Bristol. It’s a good location, a bit smaller and you get the chance to speak to nearly everyone that goes.

Tipple of choice: You’ll rarely catch me saying no to a beer, but a JD and coke will always be the drink I finish the night with.

What’s the best thing about PiGs? Great to catch up with people you know, meet people you don’t, and see so many people in the industry get together and do a bit of networking.

What makes PiGs different from other industry events? You are always guaranteed a good atmosphere at PiGs, it’s a relaxed friendly setting where everyone will give each other a bit of time to get to know you better and build new and existing relationships.

Who’s someone you love catching up with at a PiGs event? Without naming names, there are always a few face you know a bit better than others and some you know will guarantee you an entertaining evening, but a big part of PiGs is meeting new people at each event and enjoying your evening with them.

Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)? I’ve had some really good nights out with PiGs, a couple of particularly memorable nights in both Birmingham and Manchester, but the Irish bar after the last PiGs in Newcastle will take some beating, Great night.

Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could? Well, that is a very open question. PiGs have already been to some great venues, and I heard Dublin maybe in the pipeline for next year which would be great fun.

If we were planning on going a little further afield and no one had to worry about getting home or working on the Friday, then why not go somewhere we are guaranteed a few beers in the sun? All in the name of the glazing obviously.

Who should come to the next PiGs event (in one sentence)? Anyone and everyone that has anything to do with glazing, new or old, that wants to talk shop and meet more people in the same industry as them.

You know what you are going for. If you don’t like to network, it’s probably not for you. If you do (and I do!), then this is the event for you. Just real conversations. No other distractions.

So many. Literally. You’ve seen me! (If you know, you know ;))

I may have done some breakdancing at one. This one time!

Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could?

Dublin. Great that we now have Belfast. Maybe Dublin and Edinburgh next…

It’s a great place where you can genuinely get introduced to new people, which makes networking feel natural rather than forced.

What makes PiGs different from other industry events?
It’s informal, relaxed and genuinely friendly, exactly the kind of environment where real conversations happen.

Who’s someone you love catching up with at a PiGs event?
Rob Rigby and Anthony Rider from MACO always good industry chats with those guys.

Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)?
The standout for me has been how open and welcoming people are, it’s a great setting to represent AluK and start and build long‑term relationships. Especially when so much is done behind a screen these days it’s nice to see each other face to face.

Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could?
It would have to be Barcelona, or anywhere in Europe. You can’t top the great food & stunning weather!

Who should come to the next PiGs event (in one sentence)?
Anyone mad enough to get into the glazing industry, because once you’re in, you can never get out, especially when companies like AluK are involved.

Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)? The dread of going to a “networking” event only weeks after I started being eased instantly once I arrived!

Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could? Very much looking forward to the Belfast event. If you can secure an event in Nashville, I’ll be there with bells on!

Who should come to the next PiGs event (in one sentence)? As a relative newbie in the industry, it’s been a such a good way to make contacts and I would recommend any company builds attendance to PiGS into their inductions!

What’s the best thing about PiGs? Interacting with many likeminded people from the industry, Meeting people who I have spoken to on the phone and then being able to put a face to the name. Especially enjoy how year on year the number of women in the industry is increasing.

What makes PiGs different from other industry events? It’s a more casual event, Although I have secured some great industry contacts, I have also made some great friends.

Who’s someone you love catching up with at a PiGs event? Too many to mention, it is something I usually really look forward to as there are so many people to catch up with. I do love always having a little catch with Sarah from the GGF.

Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)? The London PiGs in 2025 on the boat was a great one. Beer and a boat made for an interesting experience.

Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could? Glasgow would be a great one.

Favourite PiGs location: Tough one, I really like Birmingham but will have to go with my home city of Manchester

Tipple of choice: Guinness in the winter, Warsteiner in the summer. Cold winters night, glass of 16 year old Tomintoul malt.

What’s the best thing about PiGs? Relaxed environment, where everyone is happy to talk, really does encapsulate, there are no strangers, just friends we haven’t met yet.

What makes PiGs different from other industry events? There are no agenda’s, everyone is there as part of the window and door industry and looking to either find new suppliers or get to know existing ones better. Also, you find people are honest about the state of the market and you get a genuine feel for market conditions it helps businesses feel they aren’t alone in difficult times.

Who’s someone you love catching up with at a PiGs event? You can’t choose a favourite child. 😊 I like to hear about lots of people’s experiences whether a systems house, fabricator or supplier, you can get a real insight into the challenges but more importantly, the opportunities we have.

Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)? First PIG’s event in Manchester in 2017 (you never forget your first time😊), only around 60 people at the event, thinking about this event always reminds me how much the PiGs events resonate with the industry and how they have now grown to around 250 people at an event and what a great industry we are in. Working hard and playing hard, as happy as “pigs in muck”!

Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could? Ghent in Belgium, great beers, very pretty city and to show our European counterparts that we know how to have a good time in the UK and that we still are very much part of Europe.

Who should come to the next PiGs event (in one sentence)? A bit left of field here, but some MP’s to fully understand the challenges our industry has in terms of business rates, energy, lack of clarity around standards  and an ageing workforce that we are struggling to recruit replacements for and to help understand this industry is not awash with money and everyone is working extremely hard to succeed but with very little financial reward.

Been going to PiGs since: I think from the very beginning very sporadically, going to mainly Birmingham and the London ones. But have been going a lot more the last seven years.

Favourite PiGs location: Always London my home town when it’s on otherwise it’s Birmingham so I don’t get too much jet lag plus Bristol for sure.

Tipple of choice: Winter time it’s Guinness and summer time it’s ales or dark rum with coke and a slice of lemon is a must especially if I am on the beach:)

What’s the best thing about PiGs? PiGs is a fantastic group of super talented people from all sectors of the glass industry. Discussing both and work and social subjects with new and old contacts each time .

What makes PiGs different from other industry events? It’s a more relaxed social environment making conversations freely flow with laughter and much banter 😉

Who’s someone you love catching up with at a PiGs event? Love catching up with the famous Frank Hopkins from System 3 the northern soul dance champion 😉 Met Frank for the first time on one of my visits in 1999 when I started in the glass industry.

Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)? I thought what happens on tour stays on tour ;). I think the latest one was the London one watching those navigate the stairs to the different levels after too much drink.

Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could? For me, it’s Nashville Tennessee. One the most vibrant fastest growing cities in the world and for music.

Who should come to the next PiGs event (in one sentence)? Easy! It’s the amazing Sir David Attenborough, for his wisdom and nature stories from all around the world.

Who’s someone you love catching up with at a PiGs event? That’s a difficult question to answer. The longer I’ve been going the more people I’ve met, I love catching up with both new and old friends.

Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)? Vegas GlassBuild America was memorable event after the show in a British pub environment.

Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could? Maybe Glass Asia next as I’ve never been.

Who should come to the next PiGs event (in one sentence)? A senior politician so they could listen to the difficulties of the world from down to earth people in a relaxed environment.

They bring together professionals from across the glazing industry, creating opportunities to connect with contacts you may not typically engage with in a traditional industry setting.

All of my wonderful existing Zehnder partners and customers.

Most memorable PiGs moment (either at an event or an event in particular)?

The Birmingham event in 2025: the turnout was fantastic and it was the first People In Glazing event Zehnder Group UK had sponsored. It was a late night as everyone was having such a good time together… certainly the sign of a good event!

Where in the world would you take PiGs to if you could?

Australia! I would happily head up Zehnder Group Australia 😉
