George Lewis, Editor at PiGs aka People in Glazing Society, discusses this year’s Glazing Summit, what stood out, and how he thinks this will affect the glazing sector for the rest of 2025 and into 2026.

I really enjoyed my trip up to Coventry for Glazing Summit 2025, it really is a fantastic day and an event that really has importance in the glazing calendar.

It was great to be there with my PiGs partner Sarah Ball, this time without our usual hosting duties that we have at our PiGs networking events. Having the space to simply connect, chat, and network with so many familiar and new faces was a real highlight, and for me, something that the PiGs events have really helped with.

The conference itself was packed with insight and energy from across the supply chain, although as is normal with these events, the lack of installers in the room is a concern as for me, it’s very important to get their input into shaping the future of our industry.

My standout moments

Whilst every presentation and panel provided a lot of information to take away, there were a few presentations that stood out.

Simon Jarman from Clever Bean Accounting delivered some brilliant advice on how business owners can “fix those finances”, while Certass’ Jon Vanstone gave a fascinating (and slightly alarming!) explanation of the new Super Regulator, aka the “Megulator”, and why it’s so important we stay ahead of upcoming regulatory changes.

There was also a no-nonsense presentation (and poem!) from Quickslide’s Adrian Barraclough, while the Apprentices in Action panel reminded me why I’m such a big advocate for bringing fresh talent into our sector, whether it be through apprenticeships.

What really struck me, though, was the passion in the room, whether that be presenters or those in attendance. There was a real shared desire to collaborate, innovate, and push our industry forward. We absolutely know how good we are, but now it’s time to show everyone else and shout even louder from our figurative soap boxes.

And lastly, I just wanted to say a huge congratulations to Chris, Sat, and the whole team for pulling off such a well-organised and thought-provoking conference, and to see the PiGs logo up on stage, and to have a shout out at the start of the event just showed me how far we’ve come at PiGs since I started in 2024.

I already look forward to next year’s event.

For more information about the Glazing Summit, visit: Join the Glazing Summit 2025 | Register Today

RegaLead is set to return to the Glazing Summit, sponsoring the event and showcasing the continued evolution of its Engineered Door Components range.

“The feedback we’ve had on this new range has been superb,” said Joint Managing Director, Guy Hubble. “And after a successful first appearance in the Glazing Summit’s exhibitor zone last year, we are looking forward to another great day of networking and introducing the Engineered Door Components range to more companies in the glazing sector.”

Engineered Door Components by RegaLead help fabricators to create premium, high-end, timber-style entrance doors using a PVC-U-based system of plant-on mouldings, decorative door panels and bolection detailing. Expertly engineered with impressive attention to detail, the doors offer perfectly balanced and proportioned designs in a vast colour range.

“There is high demand in the market for personalised, design-led entrance doors with contemporary performance,” continues Guy. “We offer flat, tongue and grooved, and raised and fielded panels in more than 70 standard and 100 special order colour foil finishes to suit most PVCu systems.

“The range is completed by a fantastic selection of decorative glass and bolection mouldings to create stunning, timber-look designs using existing PVCu manufacturing machinery and processes.”

At its Glazing Summit exhibition stand, RegaLead will be joined by Leigh Walker, Managing Director of WindowCAD, the window and door design and quote software that now features the full range of Engineered Door Components as an option.

“WindowCAD leads the market in 3D visualisations for windows and doors,” explained Guy. “With the huge number of design variables and effects available for engineered doors, WindowCAD software, which creates accurate 3D visuals on the fly, is going to be a key sales tool for both installers and fabricators who want to make the most of this market opportunity.”

Glazing Summit 2025 is almost upon us

There are now just four weeks to go until the Glazing Summit 2025, taking place on 9 October at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Chris Beck, editor at GGP Magazine and Glazing Summit host, said: “The event brings together over 300 delegates for a day of networking and learning. This year’s conference programme, which has been expertly curated by a steering committee of leading names, covers topics ranging from overheating homes to business development.

Highlights for 2025

“Highlights of this year’s Summit include an introductory keynote by Glynn Jones of the Bank of England, who will be providing an economic outlook for the remainder of 2025 and into next year. Glynn will be followed by the ever-popular Industry Insight Report, presented by Andrew Scott, managing director of Insight Data.

“It’s not just keynotes on the bill – a series of engaging panel discussions will get to the bottom of the key challenges facing industry professionals today. Topics being debated include the role glazing plays in the overheating crisis facing UK homes; tips on how the industry can buck the economic trends and thrive in difficult times; and how to encourage the next generation of apprentices into glazing.”

Chris added: “Throw in an interactive mental health workshop that will get you out of your seats and moving, and an evening drinks reception to unwind after a long day and you have a must-attend event for business owners and managers from across the glazing supply chain.”

PiGs AKA People in Glazing Society, the biggest and best networking event in the glazing industry and online media outlet, has become a media partner for the Glazing Summit conference, taking place on 9 October 2025 at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

The show organisers, Mark Allen Group, says the Glazing Summit “maps out the future of the industry, with expert speakers, industry leaders and an evening networking event, it is the ‘must attend’ event for industry professionals” and has been a mainstay in the glazing sector calendar since 2018.

This will be the show organisers second Glazing Summit since acquiring the conference from Andrew Scott and Insight Data in 2023.

This year’s event will see over 300 from across the glass and glazing industry supply chain descend on Coventry, where they will hear from expert speakers and industry leaders, before an evening networking event following the main conference.

Speakers this year include Chairman of Quickslide, Adrian Barraclough, Balls2 Marketing Director Katie Bregazzi and John Mannell, the Technical Officer and Training Manager for the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF).

Sarah Ball, PiGs ‘Sty Master’, who spoke at last year’s Gala Dinner following the PiGs Climb Kilimanjaro charity fundraiser, said: “We are very pleased to be Media Partners with The Glazing Summit.

“After I was asked to speak about the Kilimanjaro charity challenge at last year’s Gala Dinner, I could see that the time was right for PiGs taking a more active role in the event.

“PiGs Editor George Lewis and I are looking forward to the event itself and catching up with people in the industry.”

Individual tickets cost £135 + VAT, with a five-pass package costing £545 + VAT.

Tickets can be obtained via: Glazing Summit 2025 | Tickets

After a record-breaking 2024, PiGs aka the People in Glazing Society’s networking events are back for 2025, kicking off in Birmingham on Thursday 27 February.

In the four events that took place last year, all brought record-breaking numbers of the glazing community together under one roof.

The chance to connect with members of the glazing community, from right across the supply chain, meant the events had over 200 in attendance in both Birmingham and Manchester, and over 100 in Bristol and Newcastle, which was added to the calendar for the first time this year.

The events also saw many from the glazing sector attending a PiGs event for the very first time.

After the Birmingham event, PiGs then brings its legendary atmosphere to the FIT Show on Wednesday 30 April, before a trip to the southwest and Bristol on Thursday 22 May.

In a new addition to the calendar following calls to return, PiGs then heads to London for its ‘BiG PiG Summer Party’ on Thursday 17 July, before heading to the northeast and to Newcastle on Thursday 18 September.

Ending the year on a bang, Manchester then plays host to the final PiGs event on Thursday 13 November.

Tickets are free to those in the industry. To book your tickets for the Birmingham event, click here

Building Our Skills is set to have a prominent role at the Glazing Summit on 17 October at Edgbaston.

More details about its role will follow in due course, but both Building Our Skills and the Mark Allen Group are delighted to make this announcement.

Speaking about the agreement, Mark Handley, Building Our Skills Partnerships Manager said: ‘For Building Our Skills to be associated with prestigious and well respected industry events like the Glazing Summit shows how far we have come, and how well the industry now understands what we are trying to achieve on its behalf”.

“We are determined to make Fenestration, Glass and Glazing a Career of Choice and are committed to attracting the best possible talent to work in our factories, our offices and out on site; creating a workforce for tomorrow; delivering a long-term future for our industry”.

Chris Beck, Editor of Glass & Glazing Products magazine, organisers of the Glazing Summit, added: “We are thrilled to have the support of Building Our Skills at the Glazing Summit 2024.

“The glazing industry is facing a chronic skills shortage, and their goal of making the sector a desirable place to work can only be applauded. I’m excited to see their passion for skills in action at the event this October.”
