CABfest 2026 brings aluminium industry together

Members of the Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) community from across the UK recently descended on Donnington and Co in the Berkshire countryside for a day of relaxed networking, fun and healthy competition at CABfest.
Following the same successful format as last year’s inaugural event, CABfest 2026 comprised a golf tournament followed by a festival-style gathering for members and guests, complete with live music, street food and a DJ.
Bringing together colleagues from across the aluminium in building sector, CABfest provided an informal opportunity for members to connect, catch up with industry peers and strengthen relationships across the aluminium supply chain.
Nigel Headford, CAB CEO, said: “CABfest is designed to be informal and relaxed, unlike some traditional corporate functions.
“Above all, our aim is to create a shared social experience because that is how we believe good connections are often made and maintained.
“People are at the heart of what we do, and although we all take our day jobs and responsibilities very seriously, CABfest provides a well-earned chance to kick back, relax and let our hair down among industry friends and colleagues.”
With the option to make a day of it on the golf course, or just join in the evening for the food, drinks and entertainment, the event is said to have created valuable opportunities for conversation between aluminium systems companies, fabricators, installers, suppliers and other industry stakeholders.
The winners of the CABfest Golf Tournament were:
- First place: Daniel Parker, guest of Senior Architectural Systems
- Second place: John Beer, AEL
- Third place: Colin Smith, guest of Senior Architectural Systems
- Nearest the Pin: Josh Turner, Alufold Windows
- Longest Drive: Sam Miller, Unique Window Systems
- Best Front Nine: Phil Guy, Senior Architectural Systems
- Best Back Nine: George Bower-Khan, SE Controls
Jessica Dean, Membership and Events Director at CAB, said: “It was wonderful to
spend a day in the sun, relaxing and networking with our members, whose support we truly value.
“CABfest has been really well received by the industry, and we are already looking forward to the next one in 2027.”
