Tilt & Turn Specialist
  • Company/agency name: GC Doors
  • Location: London
  • Job type: Full-time
  • Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

This is a specialist repairs role for an experienced engineer with strong knowledge of tilt-and-turn and European window and door systems.

The focus is on diagnostic inspections and complex repairs, not new installations. You’ll work on existing systems across residential, commercial and public-sector sites, identifying faults, sourcing the correct parts and completing repairs to a high standard.

This role is ideal for engineers who:

  • Know tilt & turn systems inside out
  • Can confidently identify manufacturers and specialist hardware
  • Enjoy fault-finding and complex repair work
  • Want stable PAYE employment rather than subcontracting

The Role

A field-based engineering role focused on European-style tilt-and-turn and complex window and door systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out diagnostic inspections on existing systems
  • Identifying faults and determining the correct repair approach
  • Accurately identifying systems, profiles and hardware
  • Sourcing and fitting replacement parts
  • Adjusting and repairing specialist hardware (hinges, gearboxes, locks, restrictors, handles)
  • Managing jobs from first inspection through to completion

You’ll work independently on site, with support available when needed.

Essential Experience

This role requires hands-on tilt-and-turn experience. You must be confident working with systems from manufacturers such as VELFAC, Rationel, Idealcombi, Schüco, and equivalent European systems.

You must also be comfortable with specialist hardware brands including Siegenia, Roto, Maco, Winkhaus, Sobinco and GU (Gretsch-Unitas).

If these names are familiar, this role is for you.

What You’ll Need

  • Proven experience diagnosing and repairing tilt-and-turn systems
  • Ability to independently identify systems and specify correct parts
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence completing complex repairs without supervision
  • Full UK driving licence and own hand and power tools

This is a specialist role — general glazing experience alone is not sufficient.

Depot, Coverage & Hours

  • Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00
  • No weekend working
  • Paid overtime where approved
  • Based from our Broxbourne depot, covering Greater London

Applications are particularly welcomed from engineers based north or north-west of the M25, or within 45 minutes of the depot.

What We Offer

  • Permanent PAYE employment
  • Company van, PPE, uniform, phone and iPad
  • Company credit card for approved purchases
  • Auto-enrolment pension
  • 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)

Pay & Progression

£40,000–£45,000 PAYE, negotiable based on experience. Progression is based on quality of work, diagnostic accuracy and technical independence.

This is an intentionally specialist role. If you enjoy working on complex European systems and take pride in solving problems others can’t, your expertise will be genuinely valued here.
