M&D Golf Day Raises more than £10,000 for Prostate Cancer UK

The M&D Prostate Cancer Charity Golf Day once again proved to be a huge success, bringing together the glass industry and local supporters for a record turnout on Friday, 5 September 2025, at Wharton Park Golf Club in Bewdley.
Now in its fifth year, the annual event welcomed 25 four-ball teams, making it the largest tournament since the fundraiser began. Players enjoyed a full day of golf, camaraderie, and generosity – all in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
“The support we received this year was nothing short of incredible,” said Darren Goodhall, Area Sales manager at Brownhills Glass. “The glass industry in particular turned out in force, helping us raise vital funds and awareness for a cause that impacts so many.”
Teams and hole sponsors included Brownhills Glass, United Glass Group, Harris Glass, A C Glazing, A & S Aluminium, Ultra Tough, ACG Windows, Windowright, Mr Bansil for Trilock, Cloudy 2 Clear, Advanced Sealed Units, Framexpress, and Amber Windows.
The day was expertly managed by Corporate Day Golf, which provided on-site administration, drone and video coverage, digital scoreboards, a charity auction, and an array of prizes. The coveted top prize – four-ball at Celtic Manor – was awarded to Lynch Consultancy Ltd, with United Glass Group finishing as runners-up and A & S Aluminium taking third place.
Darren added: “What a fantastic enjoyable day we had yesterday at Wharton Park Golf Club. 100 golfers turned out and supported this charity with so much generosity and the banter during day eased the competitive golf mood.
“Big thanks to Corporate Day Golf who supported us on the day and arranged the golf to the next level. Richard, Adam & our new bestie, Mia Collymore helped us make it the biggest and best day we’ve ever had.
“Plus a special shout to Inka Palek who volunteers every year to keep Martin & I organised throughout the day. I loved taking part this year in the golf tournament and thankfully we didn’t finish on the prize board. Thanks to all the sponsors that gave donations for the day it’s very much appreciated by all of us. Your kindness and enthusiasm mean the world to us and to Prostate Cancer UK.
“With the generosity of everyone who played, sponsored, and donated both on and off the course, this year’s fundraising total will surpass £10,000, setting a new record for the event.”
