Brownhills’ Darren Goodhall Raises £350 for Alzheimer’s Society

Darren Goodhall and his mum Annette joined the local Memory Walk in Sutton Park to raise money for Alzheimer's Society

Darren Goodhall from Brownhills Glass joined the Birmingham Memory Walk 2025 for Alzheimer’s Society, raising £350 for research into the disease.

Darren and his mum Annette joined the local Memory Walk in Sutton Park, part of a national series of events organised by the Alzheimer’s Society. These events are designed for people living with Alzheimer’s, alongside family and friends, as well as people walking in memory of a loved one, to get together and share advice, laughter and support.

The walk held special meaning for Darren as Annette was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a few years ago.

“The atmosphere was buoyant, and the stories we heard along the way were both inspiring and deeply moving,” said Darren. “Walking beside people living with Alzheimer’s, as well as those caring for loved ones affected by it, was a powerful reminder of how urgently we need to find a cure.”

Annette enjoyed the day, reminiscing and sharing memories from the past – the moments she remembers best. Together with friends and supporters, she helped raise £350, which will be donated directly to Alzheimer’s research and development.

“We chatted along the way about the past, and I know my mum had a wonderful time,” Darren added. “This walk wasn’t just about fundraising; it was about creating a special memory for her and contributing to a future where families won’t have to experience this disease.”
