Emplas Open raises funds for Niamh’s Next Step

The third, annual Emplas Open Golf Day took place at Hanbury Manor in Hertfordshire on 5 June.
Once again, Emplas customers came together in the spirit of friendly golfing rivalry to raise funds for charity.
Despite rainy weather conditions this year, the enthusiasm of the golfers could not be dampened, and thanks to the overwhelming generosity of customers and suppliers, a total of £15,240 was raised for Emplas’ charity partner, Niamh’s Next Step (NNS), beating last year’s total of just over £13,000.
21 four-ball teams teed off on the day striving for golfing glory. There were more fun and games along the way this year as golfers had a chance to go up against two Beat the Pros (instead of the usual one) with fancy dress and a tequila bar thrown in for extra fun (all for charity of course!).
A day alongside “Razor” Ruddock
Entertainment was in full flow on the day thanks to footballing legend, Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock. Razor was let loose on the course to harass and interview the golfers as they navigated the 18 holes.
The highlights film from the day is not to be missed – you can watch it here. The entertainment carried on into the evening, over dinner, drinks, and more fundraising, courtesy of Aaron James, one of the UK’s top comedians.
Prizes were awarded again this year to the top three winning teams and individual golfers. Last year’s Emplas Open Champion Golfer, James Holloway from Worcester Trade Frames, retained his title for a second year running.
The funds raised for charity is only possible through the Emplas suppliers who sponsor the event and provided an amazing raffle and auction prizes. This year’s suppliers were: AluK, Avocet, Cotswold Architectural Products, DoorCo, Epwin Window Systems, The Georgian Bar Company, Hurst, Rapierstar, Saint-Gobain, WAIB, Window Widgets, Fab&Fix, MHA (Bakertilly), Arkay Windows, Subframes UK, NW Metal Sections, Rotox Winmac and Kubu.
