Specialist Glass Products Team Take on Fundraising Walk

Huddersfield-based glass manufacturer, Specialist Glass Products (SGP), has organised a 14km fundraiser walk for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
Based in Hudderfield, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports children and families across West Yorkshire with life-shortening conditions and their families. Services offered include nursing care, hydrotherapy, creative therapy, days out, memory-making, end-of-life care, bereavement support and counselling to families facing or living with the loss of their child.
SGP chose the charity as part of a team decision to support a local charity and do something that gives back to the community.
Lindsey Fallon, Head of Sales and Marketing, commented: “Forget Me Not is local to us and does some amazing work with children and families in the area.
“We’re a Huddersfield business and a lot of our team live locally, so it just felt like the right charity to support.”
The walk took place on Saturday 26 September, starting at Golcar Cricket Club, with a mixture of fields, roads and canal paths crossed.
SGP is encouraging the local community to get involved to help raise as much money as possible for the hospice which relies on 80% of its revenue through donations.
They welcomed customers, suppliers, other local businesses, friends and family.
The day began with bacon sandwiches and ended with a well-earned beer. Everyone that took part donated £15.
